“Immaculate and lovely B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

I've been coming with a group of friends/book club for several years and just recently spent two nights with my stepdaughter at The Old Saco Inn. Every room is unique, tastefully and simply decorated. The breakfasts are wonderful. In the winter they have snowshoes available for guests to use on their beautiful property, and in the summer kayaks and canoes to use on the Old Saco River right beside the inn. Close to ski areas, restaurants and outlet shopping. We got to Jackson X-country ski touring center in 25 minutes. The owners, Sandi and Peter, are great hosts, very welcoming, fun to visit with but not intrusive. Neat pub on the first floor where casual dinner and drinks can be had. Very well-stocked bar.

Room Tip: Over the years I've stayed in several different rooms. Some are larger, some smaller but all wi...

Hi C,
Thank you for your lovely review, it was great to see you again and to meet your step-daughter. We hope that the Bookclub will be able to come back again this year as they are such a festive bunch! I'm sorry that you're not here again this weekend - we are having BIG snow right now and the X-country skiing will be spectacular.
Regards,
Sandi and Pete

Wish we could have stayed longer! The property is gorgeous, and the hospitality is just right. We loved our room and the pub! Stay here if you are visiting the area, or just want a cozy spot to hunker down for a while.

Extremely clean, beautifully decorated, and surrounded by incredible land along the Saco River. We stayed in the Sweden Suite that has a large soaking tub and separate entrance door. It's situated where you can stay low key or join other guests. Truly, I don't think there's a room you would not be happy with. I can't wait to bring the whole family and hope one of my kids will have a wedding celebration in this unique property situated close to North Conway and Bridgeton.

Thank you so much for your outstanding review. We both really appreciate your comments and we're so glad that you had a relaxing and fun stay. This spring we plan to enlarge the deck outside the Sweden Suite to incorporate a private outdoor seating area for the room, and we hope that you'll come back to enjoy it!
Warmest regards,
Sandi and Pete

Oh my goodness this place is gem. We stayed here NYE, after a concert at Stone Mountain Arts Center. The hosts are friendly and gracious; the accommodations were classy and cozy; the common area is warm and inviting (amazing collection of books and nooks); and the breakfast was top-notch. I can't write a review that does it justice.

I was looking for a beautiful, snow-covered Maine setting for my after Christmas vacation with the family. The Old Saco Inn was better than I could have hoped for when I booked the trip. The inn is situated on many acres with beautiful woods and the river running through the property. The inn is decorated in a lodge style, but with an updated feel that is warm and inviting. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are a wonderful surprise. Each day there was something fantastic like an egg souffle, fresh fruit, and roasted tomatos with basil and olive oil. There is also a pub in the main building that serves drinks and light food. There are snow shoes to use on the trails on the property. The best part of the inn, however, are Pete and Sandi, the owners. They are wonderful and make you feel like you are old friends. I can't say enough about how wonderful the place is and highly recommend it for couples or families. My kids are 14 and 20 and they loved it. My 14 year old was sad to leave. I would also recommend taking a guided tour with Todd Flagg of "Good Life Adventures" while you are there. Todd took us snow shoeing to the most beautiful mountain overlook where we never would have gone on our own. Ask Pete and Sandi for his number you won't regret it!

Hosts were amazing, they have a great story that brought them to Maine. We stayed two nights around New Years in the Sweden suite. We snowshoed the trails around the B and B. Beautiful trails. We spent time at the North Conway outlet stores as well.

Spent 4 nights at this B&B in western Maine. These charming innkeepers are in the right biz, breakfast was amazing; rooms clean and comfy. Felt right at home, relaxing in the common rooms, good reading nooks and table game areas and even entertained a few friends during our stay. Hard to leave!
