Being a fan of LL Beans clothes and accessories I looked forward to visiting the flagship store and was not disappointed.
The prices are the same but it was the journey not the cost.
Yes, I took pictures in front of the BOOT and the Moose! I felt no shame!
Every family member purchase something; fuzzy jackets, metal water bottles, and lunch bags were the favorites.
We were even considering a Kayak but no room on the car.

We are planning to go back next year for the classes.

I can do much better, price-wise, watching for sales in their catalogs and at their stores. The only advantage of going to Freeport is trying on things before you buy them ... hence, you're not having to return something you've ordered that doesn't fit.

However, I love LL Bean for sponsoring the free concerts outside in summer. That was worth the trip (the reason I went ... to see Daryl Hall! :-) ) I enjoyed lunch at the Azure Cafe so much, and the overnight at a B&B was fun. The British shop was the best in town, if you love English stuff.

We expected more from this flagship store. It didn't even carry all the items you can find in the catalog. It was warm inside, making shopping a little uncomfortable, and the sales people were hard to find - overall, it was very disappointing. And forget about the outlet store - it's tiny with nothing but "returns." Just order what you want from the catalog!

This was 1 of the shopping destinations for my wife, The last week of June. We all enjoyed it. We like the quality of their merchandise & have ordered many times from the catalogue. But the store was really something to see. When used her LL Bean credit card at the store, received double points. The service at this store is fantastic. Any questions, just ask anybody who works there & they will stay with you in the nicest way until answered. And this is at any time, since the store is open 24 hrs.
Had to make a couple trips to this store to get everything we wanted. Worth it.
