“Lovely comfortable inn, friendly accomodating staff and the most wonderful dinners await you at the Harraseeket Inn.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2009

We have been guests at the Harraseeket Inn several times over the past 8 years and it never disappoints us. All staff from Richard at the front door, everyone at the reception desk to Chip Gray the innkeeper are so friendly and helpful in every way. We have stayed in single rooms, suites and a town house. They are all very comfortable and nicely furnished. The beds are so comfortable and luxurious with sateen sheets and nice soft pillows. Dinners in the Maine Dining Room are elegant with many choices prepared tableside and some flaming for drama. The Broad Arrow Tavern offers wonderful meals and some of the freshest lobster we ever had. We also enjoy the complimentary afternoon tea in the drawing room. A wonderful buffet breakfast is included and offers many choices. The location is close to shopping with L.L.Bean just
a five minute walk away and there are many more outlets and rstaurants to visit. Ben &
Jerry's for ice cream is a favorite.
Chip Gray was so kind and helpful when we had an auto problem that could have been a real disaster so far from home. Try this lovely inn and you will want to return each year.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Harraseeket. This is our first trip to maine and our first stop in freeport was a lot of fun. The front desk staff at the inn was so welcoming and were eager to answer any of our questions (especially about the wonderful shopping in freport). The lounge was cozy and had a warm atmosphere and the food was good; nothing amazing but good.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place to stay while shopping.
also, there is the most adorable McDonalds across the street that is hidden in a Victorian house, the town seems to want to keep its quaintness.

Not sure what to expect as it seemed to be too good to be true but lived up to all expectations. Friendly check-in good rooms, ample convenient parking and location at end of Main Street meant a bit quieter but easy walking to all the stores. Good food in the restaurant and excellent breakfasts. Also enjoyed the complimentary, tea and cakes in quiet relaxed atmosphere. Found hotel also good base for touring locally, and walking. Will come back again next time we are in Maine.

Recently stayed a Sat/Sun and the Carriage House rooms were not available so we stayed in the Townhouse. This worked out great for us. The buildings that have the townhouses are separate in a slightly wooded area. Our back door opened into a partially fenced grass and bush area so that we could let our dog out very easily (and thanks to all other pet owners this area was kept clean). The place was huge with full kitchen, dining area, living room and 2 bedrooms. Very quiet area, and we had neighbors on both sides with dogs. The outside of the building is in some disrepair but nothing that would stop me from staying there. This was our first trip with our dog here, we have stayed many other times so that is why I spent so long on the townhouses. The tea and breakfast are still good, the tea has fruit, cheese, and sweets. The breakfast is buffet with oatmeal, egg dish, meat, potatoes, pancake/french toast, fruit, yogurt, sweets, granola, and baked beans (never understood this one :-)). You can request specially cooked eggs like egg whites/egg beaters. The location of the Harraseeket can't be beat.

We stayed at the Harraseeket Inn for two nights in late June. Our room overlooked the garden and was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the inn overall was charming and well-kept. We ate in the Broad Arrow Tavern and found the food and service to be very good. The free breakfast in the dining room was outstanding. Excellent variety, delicious food and efficent, friendly service. The location is great. It is very easy to get on and off the freeway (but not so close as to be noisy), and it is a short walk to the main activity in the shopping area of Freeport. Freeport is a good place to stay if you want to visit Portland as well as some of the coastal towns nearby. We would definitely stay at the Harraseeket again.

Our 8-month old Shih Tzu travels with us and we first came upon the Harraseeket Inn when we searched online for "dog-friendly" accomodations in Freeport. It turned out to be a great find!

Conveniently located right on Main Street, at the north end of Freeport's shopping district, the Inn offers lovely rooms, great food and beautiful grounds. We stayed in a spacious deluxe room in the carriage house (dogs are not permitted in the main building) with a fireplace (prepared with kindling and wood, ready to light), king-size bed, refrigerator, and jacuzzi. There was ice in the ice bucket and plush terry robes for our use.

If you are staying on a Sunday and/or Monday night, consider the special package and have dinner in the Maine Dining Room. As we are landlocked Vermonters, we thoroughly enjoyed the lobster tasting dinner menu (lobster stew, lobster fritter, lobster spring roll, choice of lobster entree, with amazing rhubarb pie and homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert). The breakfast buffet was also first class. Everything was well prepared, using local ingredients, and the staff was capable and friendly.

The inn is clean and elegant and nicely decorated. We had tea when we arrived in the afternoon that included a piano player. Very relaxing. The staff was all very friendly and helpful even though we did not have any problems and loved the location that we could walk to the main area of outlet shops such as LL Bean, Burberry, Cole Hahn. I was really surprised at how nice all the outlets were and the quality of merchandise. We had dinner in the main dining room and everything ... service and food and dessert ... were amazing ... one of the highlights of our week long trip to Maine. I would highly recommend the Harraseeket.
