“Rest & Relaxation with help from Sandy at Front Desk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

We checked in on Sunday, April 13, 2014 in desperate need of some Rest & Relaxation for three days. We have stayed at the Inn on several occasions and have always found the entire staff very accommodating and friendly. As we told Mrs Gray, SANDY at the Front Desk is a GEM, she always remembers us and goes out of her way to provide us with the accommodations that we prefer. I must say, she scored 10 out of 10 with our room on this particular occasion. The weather changed by the hour on Tuesday, wind, rain and snow, our room was the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the elements. Just want to say a special THANK YOU to the entire staff, and we are looking forward to a return visit in the near future.

My family and I -- including our standard poodle - "Licorice" - wanted to spend some time in Maine- one of our favorite states. My husband found the inn after doing some research online. He is particularly good at finding special destinations but we could never have known what lay ahead. The people, the property, the food and the level of hospitality is unsurpassed. We have had the good fortune to experience numerous hotels/inns - in the U.S. and abroad -- and feel privileged to have spent some time at the Harraseeket Inn. We'd like to give a special shout out to Debby at the front desk whose attentiveness to Licorice was so loving and kind -- and to the staff who doted on us all each and very breakfast. The tavern food is absolutely delicious. We hope to return and to make this wonderful place a part of many more future family memories.

Room Tip: Terrific accommodations if you'd like to bring your furry family members

I've traveled all over the world and no other place conveys a sense of comfort, harmony, peace and good feeling as the Harraseeket Inn.

With beautiful rooms and first class restaurants you relax into the splendor of the Maine country side. Whatever your pleasure is from just hanging out to sight seeing to shopping; It’s all there.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the Inn is its staff. Anyone you meet will project the same feeling. They are glad to see you; glad to make you comfortable and they are happy themselves. This comes across immediately as you interact with the waitresses, folks at the front desk, housekeeping staff or the fellow who brings the chair so that you can sit around the fire pit at night.

To name a few be sure to meet Penny, Debra, Karen and Kiara at the front desk, Jen in the Broad Arrow Tavern, Jeremy at the bar. and Celeste and Stephanie in the breakfast room. Be sure to say hello to Chip and Mrs. Gray, your hosts. They set the atmosphere that pervades the Inn. Depending on your interests, you can ask Chip and he will find what you want.

Don't miss this wonderful Inn.

Room Tip: We've been in several of the rooms and they are all excellent. Options are rooms with a fireplac...

Wow, thank you from all of us here at the Harraseeket Inn. You made our day! I'm posting this review for the staff to see, as we do all our Trip Advisor reviews. This one will bring big smiles. We're very fortunate to have such a great group of employees, some of whom have been with us for over twenty years. They are what make this place so special, a warm and welcoming home away from home. Thank you again for such a wonderful review and we hope to see you again soon!

The Harraseeket Inn must be very proud of what they can offer for the many different types of requests they must receive. My organization setup a day long meeting for a Thursday, followed by a buffet dinner that evening, then a day-long Board meeting on Friday. ALL the staff were so attentive to details and available for any needs, including setting up a sound system which we hadn't asked for beforehand. They lent us equipment when ours failed, they were so careful not to disturb the presentations when food was being served, the meeting rooms were setup beautifully to our specs, and friendly faces were everywhere. The food for meetings far surpassed any idea of the usual sandwich & chips fare at most venues, was plentiful, and the different options for special diets much appreciated (Deep chocolate gluten free brownies were sinful!). The overnight rooms were perfect for out of state members to reserve in order to attend all facets of the meetings. One stop meeting venue of the finestkind (as we say here in Maine), highly recommended even by locals!

Thank you for your review. It's quite an honor to receive such high compliments! We're so glad your board meeting went well and your buffet dinner was an enjoyable one. Our sales staff works very hard to make sure every detail is covered and every need is met, and our chefs and bakers do the same to create memorable meals. (Aren't those gluten free brownies delicious? They're my favorite!) Thank you again for your review and we hope to host your meeting again soon!

My wife and I just completed a two night stay at the Inn via the Yankee Magazine Getaway Package. Counting the meals at the Inn, movies tickets, an LL Bean tote and a $100 LL Bean gift card, I figure it cost us less than $120 per night. All of the outlets are two blocks away as is the movie theater and if you get shopped out there are three state parks within 15 minute drives. We got to see two of them and you can't beat the coast of Maine in an season. The food in the Broad Arrow Tavern was excellent which surprised me since there were only two guys doing the cooking. The staff was always cordial and helpful in every way. Harraseeket is more of a hotel than and Inn based on its size but it feels like a B&B in all the best ways.

Room Tip: Our room was on the "south wing" along with the pool and the elevator was close to the tav...

Thank you for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed your Yankee Getaway and also got to experience two of our nearby state parks. Wolfes Neck Woods State Park, with trails through the piney woods and along the rocky coastline, and Bradbury Mountain State Park (the annual Hawk Watch is in progress now!) are two within easy driving distance. Tom Ring's Atlantic Seal Cruises takes you out to Eagle Island, a short boat trip away in Casco Bay. This is a wonderful trip in summer and you can tour Admiral Peary's summer home. Two other great hikes are Audubon's Mast Landing Bird Sanctuary and the Pettingill Farm, an 18th century salt water farm preserved by the Freeport Historical Society. There are so many beautiful places in this area to explore. Thank you again for your review and we hope to see you again soon!

Like so many people, life is busy and getting away for any amount of time is not always easy. So when an opportunity presented itself for a girls get away weekend, we opted for something close, but with a feel of being far away!! We wanted to include shopping in our weekend and selected Freeport as our destination. The Harraseeket Inn was the perfect choice. The Inn has a classy and elegant feel to it all while making you feel like you just came home, minus all the work that comes with home! :-) The room was incredibly spacious including the bathroom with it's big Jacuzzi tub. The beds were so comfortable, sheets incredibly soft and staff - always eager to please. Before having dinner (which was excellent by the way!) in the Tavern, we sat in the Tea Room (with our glass of wine) where we sat by the fire place. The ambience was so relaxing! The outdoor fire pits were going regardless of the 20 deg weather. A buffet breakfast was included with the room and the choices would satisfy any appetite, even the fussy eaters!! I wish we had stayed longer! So much more I could say, but you're best to experience it yourself!!

Room Tip: We stayed in a double room on the top floor with the view of the gardens in the back of the Inn. It...

We're so glad you enjoyed your getaway! Sometimes you don't have to travel very far from home at all to feel like you've "escaped" the day to day routine, and our Girlfriend's Getaway package is one of our most popular. Thank you for your review and we hope to see you again soon!

My husband and I just returned from a weekend at the Haraseeket Inn. We received a gift certificate for our anniversary so we could have a getaway. From the moment we walked in the front door we were treated like royalty. The staff was pleasant and smiling, the atmosphere was quaint and inviting. We enjoyed the afternoon tea in the sitting room as well as meals in the Broad Arrow Tavern (Jenny our server was a delight!) The bedding was luxurious, the room was well-appointed and the pool was a welcome respite from the winter cold of New England! Walking distance to the town of Freeport made it fun to do some shopping at LL Bean as well as many other shops.
Overall I would highly recommend and will certainly return.
