Our family returned to Cathedral Pines each year. We have traveled across country and this place rates as the best campground we have ever stayed at in the whole entire country. Yup, it's that good. The pines give amazing shade and protection on windy days. A country store next door has Kayak rentals for $10 a day!

The setting is gorgeous and is located on Flagstaff Lake. The pine grove easily sports trees that are 80 feet tall. Campsites are immaculately clean. Ours was raked before we arrived. CP's is well maintained throughout.

We really enjoy a water view and found spots 61, 64, 21 and 15 to offer the most open views of the Lake. Some spots are very, very large.

Be sure to get a hiking trail map when you check in. It's a public area so even if you don't stay at CP you can use the trail. The trail is a simple circle with a straight central path. Well maintained you walk among beautiful tall pines though woods and many ferns. Lovely.

Wifi is only available around the office. With Verizon we had no problem with phone service.

The next time we're in ME this is where we'll be staying.

this place was great for time to relax. Staff was friendly and helpful. Campground was clean and well maintained. Showers are free and clean with good water pressure. Sites are large and level under huge red pine trees. Roads are paved. There are hiking trails and ATV trails.

Cathedral Pines Campground is well maintained, the sites are large and spacious and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this campground to people who are just going to relax or to ride the ATV trails. But if you are going here expecting to be entertained the whole time, don't get your hopes up. Although it is clean and spacious, there is very little to do there. They have a game room, that's expensive, the beach often gets very crowded on hot days and you're in Eustis, Maine, so there isn't anything to do in town. The bathroom showers are free, which is a big plus for me, but they often get dirty. They close them down two hours a day, so make sure you check which two hours they are. I could see how some people would really enjoy this campground, but personally it's not for me. I enjoy staying at campgrounds were there is a lot to do in and out of the camp area. And this campground isn't one of those.

This campground is clean and well maintained. Showers are free and there is a coin operted laundry. Myself, adult daughter and grandson spent 5 nights tent camping here. When we arrived at our site #15 next to the boat dock, my daughter asked me if I was sure the entire site was ours! Some campgrounds would have made two sites out of the one we were in. As with many campgrounds, a picnic table and fireplace were provided. I did some walking around and the majority of the sites are good size. The staff is very courteous and helpful. We rented two kayaks at very reasonable rates. While there is no camp store on site (one can, however, purchase ice and firewood in the campground), there is a general store/gas station that you can easily walk to just outside of the camp grounds. The view of the Bigelow Range of mountains from the lake is so beautiful, you will definitely want to spend some time enjoying it. Sugarloaf is also visible and my grandson hiked it with as friend he met at the campground. Very enjoyable trip, very reasonable rates. Hope I have the opportunity to return again.
