“A reason to come to Maine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

We were lucky to arrive in Ellsworth on the first day of the Union River Lobster Pot reopening for the summer season. We had their special which consisted of a whole lobster, and a dozen steamer clams, red potatoes, and corn on the cob cooked to perfection, accompanied by freshly prepared coleslaw, and a small loaf of herb bread warm from the oven. This is a prime example of the food that people come to Maine to enjoy. Although, we were quite full, we just could not pass up the excellent Crème Brule prepared in the traditional manner, without all the fillers one often finds in this dish these days. If you happen to be in the area, do yourself a favor, and stop in for a meal. You will not be disappointed.

“Glad we were guests”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

Some friends took us to this fine restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Maine lobster and terrific service. Took the blueberry pie home for later. It is top shelf in every respect. Yes, it is expensive and I'll pay for it "big time" when they visit us in Florida.

“Won't see locals here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

Tourists (like us now) might not mind the prices, but I doubt the local folks can afford this fine place! It's fresh, it's good, great service, great menu, and the check to match! I would include a visit with friend/spouse, but prepare to drop the gold for a group.

“Great view for hosting out of town visitors or family events”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Nice view of Ellsworth harbor where the Union River meets the sea. Traditional Maine seafood with items for the non-seafood lovers. Nice drinks, polite and friendly service and pleasant place to dine at sunset. Signature desert is their Blueberry Pie which is worth the visit. Comfortable casual. A little pricey but a nice view and atmosphere.
