“Perfect Hotel to Come Home to After a Long Day of Sightseeing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2010

The Hampton in Ellsworth was a nice distance from Acadia and other attractions. I wish we had taken a right out of the parking lot and visited more of Ellsworth downtown. Be sure to do this because the hotel is close to everything. The pool was nice and clean and neat. A fire in the fireplace and tables to just visit and play cards with other friends. Coffee at all hours available as well as tea. The room was perfect. We had a king bed, a refrigerator, the t.v., great bathroom and at the end of the hall with no noise! The breakfast was a nice selection of items and the people employed by this hotel seem to like being there because they were personable and helpful. They need to fix their water sprinkler system because is sprays on the sidewalk and all of a sudden....you are soaked. But that was the only glitch of our stay. Hampton Ellsworth - Kudos - you made for a wonderful stay!

Brand new hotel with a spacious room, bathroom/ shower and wonderful full continental breakfast. In comparison to the price of many B&Bs, inns and hotels in the Bar Harbor/ Ellsworth area...we were very pleased w/ our stay ! Our "new" room was $159 and about 15 miles down the road at a sketchy/ old looking Best Western the rate was over $200. If you don't mind a 15-20 mile drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia...stay here!!

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (Oct. 4 & 5, 2010) while visiting Acadia & Bar Harbor. While the hotel is about 18 miles out, it was not bad offseason in terms of traffic or the drive. The hotel itself was fantastic! Comfortable King size bed (hard to find at other available hotels in B&B's in the area), large shower, fee wifi, large screen TV, large room. Quiet hotel. Staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is great. Hotel is very clean, new, lushly appointed. Free breakfast was actually good - omelets, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, oatmeal, etc. Rite-aid and Walgreens pharmacies close by. Near LL Bean outlet. Definitely recommend this hotel!

This hotel really fit our needs. Close to Acadia National Park, very clean and excellent staff. You could not have asked for nicer folks. I would recommend asking for a room that is not "adjoining" if available as we did experience a problem with some members of the Coast Guard, but the management did handle it very well.
This is a newer hotel and just about 15 - 20 minutes from Acadia National Park our destination. The breakfast was great and everyone took good care of us. There is a Wal-Mart and other food stores nearby so you can pack a lunch for the park if you flew in with a rental car. GREAT visit and would definately stay again. Note that meal prices are high in this vacation area and no easy access from anywhere if you visit the park and need lunch.

This was a brand new Hampton and was definitely very clean and spacious. We stayed 4 nights and was very nice. Exercise room had 2 treadmills so my husband & I could both use at same time. Pool had a different color, but don't let that stop you from swimming it was just the clorinating system they use. It was a 25 minute drive to Bar Harbor, but easy drive and not crowded like down town. If you like hotel stays and not B&B this is very nice place to stay. Breakfast was a lot better quality than some other Hamptons and check out the Plates, they are made with Potatoes and very green. Way to go Hampton!!!

Our main interest was Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Unless you want to stay immediately in those areas, the Hampton Inn in Ellsworth is a good alternative. It's about 20-25 minutes from Bar Harbor. If you need to drive any distance, 10 minutes or 20 minutes is not much difference. The hotel in new, clean and well maintained, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid-september. I guess this is considered low season in this part of Maine, but it still cost us $141 a night (AAA rate). The hotel is only a few months old, so it was very nice and clean. If you are planning on spending a lot of time in Bar Harbor or Acadia, you may want to find a place on the island, because this is a 25 minute drive from Bar Harbor with no traffic. In the middle of summer, I can see this drive taking 40 minutes easily. The staff here was very nice and helpful, I hope that doesn't wear off with time. The free breakfast was good and the eating area was large. One strange thing I'd like to point out was the fact that the drapes didn't close in my 3rd floor room, actually they weren't even sized right to close. All there was, was a sheer cloth between me and the apartments across from the hotel in the back. Its a good thing I'm not much to look at!
