“Good food for the price not fancy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2012

Lunch is the only meal I have eaten there. They are open all year and it is fairly busy the times I have stopped, which is proof of the pudding that the locals like the place. Lunch specials and salads, soup , sandwiches.

“Dirty and the Staff is rude”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2012

We went to this establishment twice. We figured the first time was a fluke. The place was filthy. The other guests were rude, and the kitchen staff would yell obsenities at the wait staff.
The food was subpar at best. I would pass on this greasy spoon.

“Great Down Home Diner with Excellent Menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2011

Diner atmosphere with kitschy flare and a solid menu that presents a lot of variety. Very, very friendly staff make you feel welcome, warm and special. The breakfast is the best in town. The interesting and tasty omelet combinations are always well executed. The fried kielbasa as a side for eggs is excellent. Specials this weekend included the famed Crab Benedict as well as sweet potato pancakes and pumpkin pancakes. I had the pumpkin pancakes and they were delicious; light and thin and moist with excellent flavor. Also delicious is a breakfast burrito filled with sausage, scrambled eggs, peppers and onions with salsa and sour cream on the side - it's yummy with just the right amount of spice for breakfast. There are home made breads and muffins. I'm a tea drinker and I especially appreciate when a diner - cafe offers a variety of teas rather than just a Lipton bag. Thank you, Martha!

We've only had lunch here once - It was very good with fresh and interesting specials. Martha's is probably the best affordable cafe in Ellsworth for honest American food. Don't let the exterior keep you away - there's a gem inside.
