“Traditional bali”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

We returned for our 6th time! I consider it my second home!
I love the ambience, the tranquility. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the spa is excellent too. You really are pampered there. Mr Oka, who organises walks and bike rides, took us on his best tour yet! We rode for 2 hours through Subaks, seeing the real Bali. And how Bali really works. Lovely bike ride, and I thoroughly recommend it. Villa was as good as ever, very private and quiet. Thank you Furama.

Room Tip: The traditional villas are roomy, with a walled garden and pool, very private and secluded.

Firstly this is not a resort by any means. Considering we were paying hundreds of dollars a night we expected a beautiful getaway. We checked out after our first night even though we had paid in full.

The resort was like a ghost town when we arrived. Frustrated and tired after being misdirected three times by the hotel. The front desk offered no apology only blame of our driver. We found out the hotel was less than 30% full so they could have easily provided us an upgrade for the trouble.

We arrived on a Saturday and the front desk had failed to mention there would be bug gassing from 5pm. Intense fumes were soon to follow...

We had a deluxe private pool villa. The villas are not sealed and very large wasps and geckos can easily find their way into the rooms. The beautiful looking fabric hanging from the corners of each bed are bug nets and aren't very useful as there are wide holes at the top of each post of the bed. Needless to say we would wake up finding bugs inside our bed.

You have the choice of leaving your food inside to attract the bugs or leaving it outside for the wild cats to tear it apart.

Mushrooms growing on the bottoms of the windows. The place is very old and run down. The furniture was marked and scratched. Definitely has rustic feeling with moss growing on everything. Flowers are beautiful and the villas are very private. Probably because nobody else is staying here. The house keeping staff are genuine, friendly and responsive.

All in all I wouldn't want to stay here again. Which is sad because we paid so much to be here. This was supposed to be our most desired stay over the four resorts on our bali trip.

Dear Sir or Madam

First of all We realy appreciated very much for the comment as our good feedback to improve our facilities and services.
Referring through to the case that the guest had been face regards to find out the hotel location which had been misleading, and room facilities were very poor and rundown, please kindly accept our apology as all of them were not match with your expectation.
Considering the refund money for the rest of the accommodation due to they left the property earlier had been explained and apologized by the reservation Manager for not being able to honor accordingly, and after she check the type reservation through to the Expedia .com unfortunately was '' non refundable '' mean that the property was not able to refund the money since it was special promo . As gesture of the property that the reservation manager who had been in charge upon guest checked out at around 10 am, had also been offered them to be accommodated at higher room category [ Lagoon Pool Villa] but the guest had been refused it and decided to find out another property. Attached is the chronology of the reports regard to the direction, and room facilities which had been attended by the reservation manager . The guest finally decided that they preferably to be returned home as soon as possibly. Hopefully the mentioned of above report would be able to compile for your kind perusal and as aback up data. Accordance with the front office staff who had been blaming each other with the local driver had been consoled and given verbal warning to educate her and avoiding the same case happen by the near future.

Thank you very much for you usual support to regain our trust worthiness worthiness

Best regards

The Furama was what we needed to after our poor experience in Seminyak.
Traditional hospitality was all around with nothing being too hard for them.
We used the shuttle bus once but then opted for taxis which were waiting at the hotel as it was more convenient.
The rooms we clean and well kept. The stones in the shower were a bit of a pain and I also didn't like that the safes were loosely placed in a cupboard.
The hotel food was good but restricted in selection. Buffet breakfast also good with the typical Asian orange juice that tastes like fanta.
The spa area had the best massage that I had on the trip. The rooms were stunning and we wished we hadn't left it till the final day to use the facilities.
Would easily stay again.

Our family stayed for 6 x Nights from Christmas Day to New Years Eve in two Pool Villas. Was a lovely and peaceful stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and prices reasonable considering the quality. The hotel is a little way out of Ubud but the benefit of this is the tranquillity and the beautiful rural surrounds. Most mornings I went for a bike ride (hire from hotel) through the tracks in the rice fields, and it was just stunning. There are four free shuttles into and out of Ubud each day and it is no trouble getting a car back to the Hotel for $10 or so if the shuttle schedule doesn't suit, so being out of town is not really a big issue. Was given a lovely farewell and would definitely stay there again when back in Ubud.

I was attending the Soulshine festival at Green School, so the location was perfect. The villas are superb and very clean with everything you could want for a quiet stay.

The staff are lovely and friendly and were able to help me with anything I needed anytime. The cycling and trekking are excellent. Oka, runs the activities there and being from the local village his knowledge of the area and customs was just fantastic. Thank you so much Oka for sharing your village with me.

All in all a great stay at Furama and highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle!

We loved the pool villa it was so great and spacious and relaxing with traditional furniture.
Hotel itself has a very calm and relaxing atmosphere and surroundings. Very gorgous. Service and food was great and drinks were mostly good too.
No one seemed to care when we were leaving though it didnt make us want to go back. there was no proper farewell thanks for staying and come again. Just a bunch of guys talking among themselves at reception as we were leaving was a bit awkward. Other than that really really great though.

The location also was far away from Ubud centre and a fair bit of a drive but also makes it quiet and calm.
