Last summer, my wife and I found this hotel on a list and sight unseen took a chance and booked it. We hoped for the best and got more that we hoped for. Our room (the game room) was outstanding and the innkeepers delightful. Breakfast was tasty and we enjoyed the morning conversations with other guests.

On our second trip, we were excited to stay at the Brewster Inn and it did not let us down for all of the above reasons. We wanted to have a dinner with some old friends one evening and the innkeepers arranged for it to happen. Their dining room and parlor were available for our private entertainment for the entire evening.

If you are looking for a destination hotel that is more like a home, this is the hotel for you. We plan to make it a regular stop any time we travel to the north. Wecan't imagine a better experience.

Our trip to Dexter, Maine and Brewster Inn was a memorable occasion. We drove from Connecticut to Maine and enjoyed the beautiful scenery all along the way. When reaching Dexter we were thrilled by this qauint small town and the beautiful historic Brewster Inn. Our guestroom (Strawberry Room) was clean and bright; just large enough for the two of us to relax comfortably. The common areas were filled with antiques and things to read about the interesting history of the Inn. That evening, we enjoyed a delicious gourmet dinner and wine tasting from a local Maine winery. This was a special event evening of fine dining organized by innkeepers, Mark and Judith. The food was incredible........from the pastry wrapped Brie En Croute to a perfectly prepared beef tenderloin. Delicious! We enjoyed our trip to the Brewster Inn and plan to return later this year for another special event dinner. Mark and Judith are extremely warm and friendly hosts and we couldn't be more pleased with meeting them and staying at the Brewster Inn!

I don't have a lot of experience staying in B&Bs, but I had a wonderful time. Mark and Judith were welcoming and a genuine pleasure to talk with. I stayed in the Blueberry room, a cozy blue and brown room that is the first of several to be redecorated. If it is any indication of what is to come, the Brewster Inn is going from a nice, big old house to spectacular. The food was delicious. I spent an entire morning sitting and reading in the sun on a glassed-in porch that runs along the front of part of the house. Anyone who has spent a winter in Maine can appreciate how restorative that was. I hope to be able to stay again sometime.

  • Liked — Friendliness of hosts, followed closely by the feel of the house.
  • Disliked — It was snowing when I arrived, but that had nothing to do with the accomodation.

Our second trip to the Brewster Inn proved to be just as nice as the first - actually even better as this time we didn't have to leave for dinner! The food is wonderful, Mark and Judith are very friendly and accomadating and we have already reccomended it to friends. We have three small children and this is the perfect place to get away for a private and relaxing weekend - not to mention Bangor and a little gambling is just a shout away!

The Brewster Inn is a wonderful place to stay if you are in the Bangor area. The building itself has a history of being the home of Senator Brewster, and is carefully kept up by the owners, Mark and Judith, who are the most personable and caring inkeepers we have experienced in all our B&B experiences. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We stayed in the Honeymoon room, which has a wirlpool, shower, and an additional room to sit and relax in. We really enjoyed our stay and plan on going back in the spring or summer. Do yourself a favor and don't pass up a chance to stay there.
