I have a love for Jamaica and it's not often I find Jamaican food spots in New England, so I had to give this place a try. It's in such an unexpected location along route 1, and it will absolutely catch your eye with the native colors. Watch for red, green, and yellow!
I have to be honest with you restaurant-seekers, though - Jamaican Jerk Center is not an indoors, classy establishment. Very similar to what I've seen in Jamaica, there are a handful of picnic tables, some underneath a canopy and some not. It's very casual here and you have to be comfortable with that - "A roadside stand" as someone else identified it. In my opinion it's a good place to grab a quick bite and be on your way.
The only time I've had food here was during a rain spell, and since there wasn't any vacant seating under the canopy (others were dining too), I ate in my car. I had the jerk chicken and it was delicious, just as I had hoped. All dinners are served with rice, peas, and plantains, so you get a good serving, but you're paying a bit for the novelty.
