Been away all summer and finally made it to Bite into Maine the last few days they're open for the season. Have had more than my share of lobster rolls over the years but never, I say NEVER, have I had one this great. Opted for the Picnic Roll which is, get this, cole slaw, melted butter, celery salt and an incredible amount of perfectly cooked lobster. They even make their own buns which are fantastic. Hold an enormous amount, but not too bready like most. Husband had the tomato, basil and mozzerella sandwich on ciabiatta , which he proclaimed perfect. On top of it all, it's run by the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.
PS. Fort McWilliam Park is a gorgeous spot right on the ocean. MANY picnic tables. After lunch, take a walk on the many trails and, during the summer, you can go to the sweet museum in the Portland Head Light (lighthouse).
