“Great location, comfortable rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

My family of 5 stayed in 2 rooms on the first floor in August. We picked this hotel because of the location and the pool, and we were very happy with our choice. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything but somehow that footpath makes you feel like you're stepping into a magical garden. The backyard is good for kids to run around in, and the s'mores and campfire on a Saturday night were a wonderful treat. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Small refrigerator and coffee makers in each room were very convenient (one night we decided not to drag the kids to another restaurant but instead got some fruit and cheese at the grocery store and had a picnic in the backyard). The staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool was a highlight for the kids, although I found the pool area the least impressive - to keep it cool they don't open any windows so the chlorine smell and damp air was a little much for me. Overall the whole family was very happy with the hotel and we will definitely be back again.

We recently stayed at The Camden Riverhouse. The location was wonderful and we appreciated being able to keep our car parked at the hotel and walk to everything in the village, including all the shops and great restaurants. Our room was very clean and quiet and we thought the beds were especially comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was definitely adequate with fresh fruit each morning. It was served in a very pleasant room and you also had the option of eating outside on the lovely deck. Overall, we had a great experience and definitely plan to return for another stay!

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor which was not only quiet, but very convenient to the breakfast room wh...

We stayed two nights of our week enjoying the Maine coast. We were welcomed by friendly desk staff and surprised by a very nicely appointed room on the second floor. Te loation is perfct and only a short walk to shops an rstaurants. It was harvest time and the vegetables (tomatoes and squashes were ripening. Every day the staff picked the ripe vegetables and left them out for guests to take. Nice touch!! Also we were surprised at the pet friendly policy and although we didn't have a pet with us, we did enjoy petting and playing with other guests pets. This is a good place to note that many places along the coast including hotels and restaurants were pet friendly. The Riverhouse is great place to stay while in Camden.

Room Tip: The secod flor is quiet and conveient fr the free contiental breakfast

This is a very good place all around. The service is prompt and efficient. The location is the best. They have extras like lollipop and marshmallow. But what I truly love is the people working there. They work hard and attend to your need ASAP.

We recently stayed at this hotel and were pleasantly surprised.
The room was large and well appointed with tasteful furniture. There was a table and desk area with 2 reclining chairs. This made a nice sitting area and gave us room to spread out.

Also had a large closet, a dry bar area with refrigerator and a very large bathroom.

The room was very clean and in very good condition. Had plenty of windows and light. The only downside was that the view was not especially appealing, but we knew that in advance.

The hotel had a fire pit in the back and this was a nice touch, very comfortable chairs around the fire and free s'mores kits for kids (or adults) to roast.

Indoor pool and hot tub were smallish but perfectly fine..something of a bonus actually.

A free continental breakfast was included int he stay..this was adequate but nothing to rave about, a decent choice of basic cereals, some small muffins, small bagels, juices and coffee. (although the coffee was quite good!)

The public spaces were nicely decorated and clean.
The location is very convenient to town and the shops and restaurants, but really no view. The hotel has done the most with the relatively small space they have, there is a nice bridge leading over a river to get to the hotel from town, and this is loaded with hanging flowers, with built in benches to sit and relax.

Backyard had the fire pit, some gazebos and outdoor tables...very nice for adults to relax in.

The staff were very pleasant

Overall we enjoyed the hotel and were very comfortable there, would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again

Room Tip: We had an end room which seemed to be a bit larger than the others

This is a lovely comfortable family friendly hotel. In the evening the hotel provide marshmallows etc for cooking s'mores on the fire pit outside. This was a really nice way to meet other guests & share stories. Having a pool is always great for the kids & another way to meet other kids.

Stayed two nights. Selected hotel as we were traveling with our dogs. Room was adequate with small kitchen, sitting area and bedroom. The hotel put out two dog beds bowls and treats. Excellent location. Price was fair for top season in Camden. Big negative is pet policy which requires you to keep your pets with you at all times (had never come across this before). We couldn't go to some of the excellent restaurants because of the policy. Also, the hotel is not staffed after ten pm.

Room Tip: Stayed in basement room. Very quiet, wouldn't recommend
