“A wonderful wedding at a fabulous Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

My new husband and I were invited to a wedding at the Hawthorn Inn one month after our wedding New Years Eve 2013. It was a fabulous time; Maryann arranged for us to get our nails and hair done, the breakfasts were amazing, and the Inn is proudly kept in tip top shape. The wedding dinner was as spectacular as any meal that I had in Europe; she asked this couple who were chefs at a restaurant they owned to make this exquisite meal and it was. The table was beautifully set and so much attention was paid to the details. I left some toiletries and they were promptly returned. We will go there again. Thanks for a beautiful stay Maryann.

Room Tip: My room was wonderful, it was in the main house, and had a beautiful bathtub perfect for one. There...

My husband and I met with friends for Christmas By The Sea in Camden. Our friends found this inn and recommended we stay. Our past experience with inns has been less than favorable however, Maryanne was fantastic! The breakfasts she made for us were amazing and the location of her inn to downtown and the weekend long festivities was great! Even with the cold we were close enough to walk to everything we wished to attend. Maryanne was kind enough to book our evening reservations at 2 fantastic local restaurants and her recommendations were spot on! We are looking forward to seeing them again soon!

Lovely hotel, nice decor and very freindly staff. We got a free upgrade when we stayed. Also, my wife and I got engaged here so it is one place we will never forget. The breakfast was very very nice especially. Short walk to very nice town.

Room Tip: Stay in the turret room it is worth the extra money.

We so enjoyed our stay this past weekend at Bill and Maryanne's beautiful home in Camden- We came for Camden's Christmas by the Sea celebration with another couple and we couldn't have been more happy with the entire experience. The Inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas and was such a beautiful sight to see as we arrived just after dark. Maryanne and Bill went above and beyond to make us feel welcome- we were given some suggestions for dining and Maryanne made us reservations at Francine's Bistro, which was fabulous! Our room was on the second floor and was gorgeous with a four poster bed and a huge bathroom with a beautiful claw foot tub- the bed linens were heavenly as was the bed itself! Now onto the breakfast...both mornings were scrumptious!! I especially enjoyed her homemade granola with yogurt and fruit- plenty of juice and coffee as well as second helpings for anyone wishing so. We were encouraged to enjoy the living area's with our friends which was very nice. We feel very fortunate to have found such a lovely bed and breakfast in one of our favorite Maine destinations, and we will definitely be back soon!

My husband and I recently spent our 1st anniversary at this beautiful inn. The inn is an easy walk to downtown Camden and with the leaves off the trees, we could view the harbor from our room. The room was beautifully appointed and the bed was very comfortable with wonderfully soft cotton sheets. The gas fireplace was nice to enjoy on a cool late fall night but the large balcony off the room would have been terrific had we been there during Maine's warmer months. The innkeepers knew it was our anniversary and a bottle of sparkling wine awaited us in our room when we arrived. Breakfast the next morning was delicious! Such wonderful food, fun conversation and such great service! I would highly recommend this inn. We were thrilled with our experience!

Room Tip: This inn has beautiful rooms in the main house but also rooms in the carriage house right next door...

We stayed for 2 nights in early October. My husband and I stayed in the Watney room on the first floor of the Carriage House. Our son and daughter-in-law stayed in the Brougham on the second floor of the Carriage House. Both were very nice rooms. Loved the large bathroom with large shower. Would have loved to have sat out on the private porch except the weather was nice and we had planned too many things to see and do. Mary Ann had to be away but her husband Bill took good care of us. He even picked up a birthday cake that Mary Ann had ordered for us as a surprise for our daughter-in-law and he set it up with tea in a cozy corner of the main house so we could surprise her. Beds were comfortable and the breakfasts and service were excellent.

We loved our time at the Hawthorne Inn. Mary Anne was lovely and so helpful with her suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area, including our drive up the coast as we left Camden. Breakfasts were superb and beautifully presented.

Room Tip: Turret room is lovely but weekday morning traffic noise was bothersome from the major road in the fr...
