“Every stay is a great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Our fourth stay was as memorable as our first stay. We stayed in "the Loft" this time and had a great stay. Breakfast each morning was delicious and the service was great and personable. We had the lobster pick nick basket which included nice meaty lobster panini's, potato salad, cheese, crackers, meat slices and a very nice bottle of white wine topped off with strawberry shortcake. All for two. We took one of the suggested road trips and ended up at Owl's Head lighthouse. Great views and even better eats. We where able to enjoy our dinner Wednesday night with my in laws, a five course extravaganza that exceeded our already high expectations (from previous visits). Awesome lobster ravioli, tomato soup, blueberry sorbet, haddock and tiger shrimp main course with a perfect soufflé to finish it off. The Hartstone staff always performed at the highest level and any less than perfect interaction was easily overlooked by their exceedingly positive attitude as characterized by the owners themselves, on each and every interaction with them as well. Thank you again for a memorable stay and we will be sure to return again in the near future.

Lovely, lovely inn with exceptional service. Our one night stay was too short. Our room, the viola, was very comfy with soft linens, robes (leopard print) and an adorable iron stove in the sitting area. We were in the hideaway which is across the street from the main inn and we loved it. The whole inn is decorated tastefully with lots of original artwork by local artists which is for sale. So many special touches from the decor to the signature cocktails for happy hour and that delicious lobster hors d'oeuvre. At breakfast we were greeted by the host and served by the chef. The spiced bacon was to die for and I bought one of his signature blends. We are sorry we didn't have time for dinner but definitely next time. One last word about the staff...awesome! Thank you Anna! Soo helpful and charming. And Cindy and Casey. We would recommend Hartstone to anyone traveling to Camden Maine

Had a fantastic time at the Hartstone inn, the rooms are impeccable & the breakfast really great and with a real twist. Wish we'd stayed more than one night! Based on the amazing breakfast I would assume the food would have also been great for dinner, but we checked in too late for that.
Recommend to anyone but probably best for couples.

My dear friends and I stayed at this lovely B&B for two nights in October when we were able to catch the last of the fall leaves. I was turning 40 and my friends were renewing their wedding vows...we wanted to treat ourselves. My heart was set on a fireplace And a jacuzzi tub in my room and even though the room was larger than I needed, it was perfect! Also, it was reasonable. The bathrobes are the perfect touch and the ones that my friends had in their room were leopard print which made for some very fun photos! :) The sheets that they use here are heaven... so snuggly, in fact, that I have since purchased a pair. We had one wonderful dinner and two delicious breakfasts. If you have an opportunity, the lobster in vanilla bur blanc over angel hair pasta is amazing! Not forgetting the fabulous bacon that they add their own seasoning to! Soo good!
The Hartstone Inn is set in the perfect place to walk through the beautiful town of Camden, the staff is helpful, kind, and friendly and I will certainly be back!

Fantastic was the word of the week for my husband and myself. At every turn our expectations were exceeded. From the very easy check-in: we were welcomed, shown a brief tour of the main building and brought to our room at the Hideaway..... all was beautiful, and beautifully executed. We felt very at ease. We stayed in the Sunflower Suite and were more than pleased with the amenities and size.. We stayed a week so the space this choice provided was perfect. Larger than the online photos... ( I am not posting more photos as I feel the surprise added to our experience). The staff was top notch and constantly went the extra mile... down to a last minute surprise from my husband for me of a wine and cheese platter in our room...so last minute that it was requested of our server during cocktails at the main inn, delivered while we were having our drinks..and she was back in time to check on us while we were enjoying our beverages....

The lovely ladies of the house staff were always ready with a smile, great offerings of trips for our day, and always happy to hear what we did with our previous day. These exchanges were never over the top, nor were they intrusive. The meals were of course fantastic and every detail was perfect. We are early risers and enjoyed coffee while waiting for breakfast which nevel left us hungry.. Fresh fun juices, sweets and egg dishes were fantastic.. Salmon eggs benedict, bacon wrapped sausage, warm rice pudding, blueberry pancakes... and on and on.
We ate at the main inn most mornings until more guests arrived and we then had breakfast in our Hideaway building. We were interested if there would be a difference in the meal experience being away from the main kitchen.... of course not... everything was to the same level as the main building... quality of service, and quality of the meal.
we enjoyed a 3 course meal and also a 5 course during our stay.... Wonderful!!! again, as a person who scours for every tidbit about my destination, i am going to leave out a few surprises as this adds so much to your experience. The meals and servers were exceptional... lobster, tenderloin, salmon... all consistently excellent.

The Sunflower Suite has ample room for a full week as you do require a little more breathing room and was impeccably clean... clean...clean... the stairs to this room are a little steep and i was happy to know that prior to our arrival as I was prepared.

Proximity to town from the Inn and and the Hideaway building is only a few steps... Many choices for beverages, treats, delis, gourmet, views, historical walks. Driving opens up Rockland, Rockport, Cellar Door Winery... drives to Mt Battie, Beech Hill and so on...
Don't miss the Camden Public Library... beautiful structure and outdoor area.

I had our list of "must sees" put together and we learned about so many more from the lovely staff that our trip was rounded out very nicely!

The trip was everything we could have imagined and more and we will definitely return for more visits in the future.

Room Tip: Sunflower suite had bedroom, living room, large jetted tub, large walk in shower, large powder room...

We spent 3 nights at the Hartstone inn in mid October. I can say with absolute certainty the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, and that is just the beginning. From the moment we arrived, when we were greeted by Anna, to the morning we departed, we experienced nothing by exceptional service. We stayed in the Arbor Suite, a very large room which included a seating area. In this seating area, there is a loveseat that faces a nice sized television (complete with a DVD player), and a gas fireplace/stove. The bedroom area of the room includes the king-size bed, a full dresser, and a writing desk. The bathroom includes both a shower and a jacuzzi tub. Our room had a private entrance and was in a building on a separate property. Others have commented about the Inn including three properties, two of which are not next to the main house of the Inn. This was not at all problematic for us. It is a lovely walk between the properties, with manicured flower beds and herb gardens.

There is a cocktail "hour" beginning at 5:00 p.m., although we quicky learned it could be a cocktail "evening" if you so desire. With your drinks you also get appertizers. On our first night, it was Bruscetta, which was wonderful. In fact, the only drawback was I couldn't make a dinner out of it; it was that good!!

Breakfast is served each morning and it was equally as delicious. While we didn't have the 5-course dinner, we did enjoy the lighter dinner that was offered. It was just as good as the breakfasts and appetizers.

This was our first trip to Camden. We loved the town and the friendly people who live there, but the hightlight was definitely the Hartstone Inn. We have no reason to stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: The Arbor Suite has a private entrance and it is a very secluded room.

I honestly don't know where to begin! How could you complain about anything... you check-in warm cookies and tea are waiting. In the morning you are greeted with the best coffee and fresh squeezed juice... oh and amazing breakfast. My new husbands favorite was the waffles with bananas and walnut with and the apple tart. Mine was the almond crumb cake...I would love that recipe! Oh and by the time you were done with breakfast and back to your room it was cleaned and the bed was made! Josh and I stayed in the Cottage Suite is was so great for a couples getaway! Seriously Hartstone Inn you will for sure see us again and I will tell everybody that is traveling your way to stay with you! Thank you so much for making our honeymoon so special! P.S. The onsite spa= Great! Dinner=Great! NUMBER 1 Thing= Best Lobster Rolls in MAINE! Seriously you must try the bucket lunch it is worth every penny! So much better than the rolls we had in Wisscasette.... and you know who I am talking about if you have been up and down route #1!

Room Tip: We stayed in the cottage suite! Wonderful big bed and jet bath however when you would walk past the...
