“Filthy!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

I wholeheartedly agree with an earlier review by Joe P from Oregon. Marriner's is absolutely filthy! The rug alone gives me the creeps. I normally would have walked right out the door after spotting something so clearly unappealing but my friends chose this spot for lunch so kept quiet. Nothing about this place was appealing, including the food. I too shudder to think what the kitchen must look like. All restaurants nationwide should be required to prominently post their health/sanitation ratings.

“Best Place Ever for Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

We went here twice for breakfast while staying in Maine and will definitely be back anytime we return. The first morning I had the maine blueberry pancakes which were out of this world. They were overflowing with blueberries. The second day we had the homemade hash (actually homemade, not a doctored up can of hash), eggs overeasy and of course an ala carte blueberry pancake on the side. My spouse is a corned beef hash snob and was impressed with Marriners hash which had perfectly sized potatos and fresh red bell peppers. The first morning we had a very plesant older woman as our server, she was attentive and hospitable. The next day we had a very young girl who was on her second day on the job. Even though she was new and a little nervous, she was also very plesant and attentive. Both days our food came out at a resonable time, maybe a bit slower than I'm used to, but this is Camden and everyone is a bit more relaxed.

** As for the review that commented on the dirty carpet. Yes, the carpet was dirty, however this is Maine which gets a bit of snow, and it is impossible not to track in the salt, sand and snow. Get over it.

“Huge pancakes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

Average food. Average coffee. Average OJ. They did, however, make me a fried haddock sandwich which I was craving for breakfast which was delish.

Lovely to sit outside by the water in the summer.
