“Dining is a real experience here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Natalie's. A great special-occasion restaurant. Very, very pricey -- but well worth it. The service is the best you will find anywhere. Our waiter (Alex) and the waiter at the next table knew the menu and preparations inside and out. I ordered gazpacho as a first course. It was partially assembled at the table and included a tray of 6 different ingredients that I could add. Fascinating. A presentation like I have never seen. The bread is served with locally made butter and your choice of several interesting sea salts enhance the unsalted butter. Lots of creativity going on in this kitchen. Still, the price is a tad high ($72pp and wine by the glass is $12 - $19). But, the experience is priceless!

“Elegant, sumptuous, worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

Natalie’s has a sumptuous seven course tasting menu and inspired wine pairings.
Dinner was introduced by an amuse bouche of melon gazpacho topped with mussel foam. All courses, such as oysters and lobster, were cooked perfectly. Some were highly inspired, such as a sheep’s cheese with blueberries served under a glass of pine smoke. The seared fois gras was the best my companion had never had. Dessert was an ice cream sundae to be assembled by the diner: vanilla ice cream and extremely dark rich chocolate with toppings of chocolate pieces, caramelized pine nuts, fried dough wafer, sugared strawberry jellies, and strawberry syrup. Tiny tea and basil lollipops were presented with the bill. Service was attentive, and wait staff highly informed about dishes, individual ingredients, and wines.

“Not Living up to Hype”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

With such a reputation, I had to go to Natalie's on my birthday recently. Service is a little stuffy for Maine IMHO. But most of the food was well prepared but just not living up to the hype. I'd say it's overpriced for the value.

“Hoping for more ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

We ate our way through many of Maine's finest and was very much looking forward to our reservation here. From the start we had our worries with the waiter who did not seem very fluent in the menu or the ingredients. Everything was tasty but just not spectacular. And our waiter seemed overwhelmed and was hard to find (we even had to ask for bread about half way through the meal when we saw the other tables around us enjoying theirs. The truffle salt is delicious by the way!). Our priciest meal in Maine and certainly not our most memorable.
