In addition to gorgeous rooms, extraordinary food, exceptional service and a beautiful location, Joann seems to specialize in surprises of the most delightful sort. Get this: I'm a tea drinker who had given up on having a good cup of tea in the room at motels or b&b's because it's impossible to run hot water through a coffee maker and not have it taste like bad coffee. I open the cabinet on our little wet bar, and there are TWO coffee makers, one labeled "for tea only." Then, when my husband and I return from our delightful walk downtown for dinner (excellent recommendation by Joanne), we notice candles on our path and all of the doors leading from the outside and up the stairs to our delightful room have all been opened just a few inches leading to one another, with a soft light burning for us in the stairway, all culminating at our door on which hangs the menu for tomorrow's (scrumptious) breakfast. For two weary folks who just wanted a little overnight getaway in our home state, we returned home feeling as refreshed as if we had spent a week away. We'll tell our friends, and we'll be back.
