“Best Food, Best Rooms, Best Service, & Best Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

I cannot say enough about the wonderful vacation we had because of the hospitality, class, and service that accompanied our stay at the Norumbega Inn. From the fine details of each meal prepared by Phil, to the prompt, but at ease, service by Sue and Linda, the Inn left my wife and I feeling like royalty. Each room is different and unique, with its own beauty and character. The deck and balconies are great on warm summer evenings with a glass of wine, or on a cool, crisp morning with a cup of coffee. The reading nook at the bottom of stair is a great spot too. Everything about this place is 5-star in service, food, and attention to detail. Most importantly, they make you feel at home. This is where you need to stay if visiting Camden, ME.

It is difficult to find fault in this place. The beautiful castle-like structure sets on an expansive, terraced lot overlooking the bay. It is superbly maintained inside and out. Porches wrap around the rear on several levels enabling direct access from rooms on the upper floors. Furnishings, decorating and choice of colors are pitch-perfect throughout. Meals are served in an inviting corner room with large windows that bathe the space in natural sunlight. Our breakfast was elegant and excellent. The hosts were attentive to all our needs.

My wife (who likes to think she is a princess) picked the Norumbega Inn after she saw pictures of its castle-like qualities online. Sue, Phil & Linda and all the staff treated us like royalty. We started our stay after a 4-day Windjammer cruise and were in desperate need of some pampering. The rooms were spacious, very private, and comfy. The meals were out of this world. Be sure to make a dinner reservation there and have Phil cook for you. In turn you will have had the best meal in Camden. Loved it! We will definitely be back.

The new owners of this 1886 property on the NRHL have restored and reimagined bygone luxury for today's traveller. Rooms are uniquely decorated and Ipod-ready. Personal research has determined the selection of towels, sheets and toiletries- all sumptuous and "green." The lushly landscaped grounds include a romantic gazebo and be sure to ask for the Warwick room for a telescope and sea view! There are great things brewing at this gorgeous castle (not just the make-your-own Keurig near every room). Philip is a world-renowned chef (and CIA instructor) and will be offering fabulous cuisine soon. Go soon before it becomes impossible to get a reservation. This is a gem!

The owners are restoring this fine Dame from 1886 to its former glory. We were celebrating our 25th wedding aniversary and my wife always wanted to stay here. Sue and Phil and Linda were super accomadating. You are doing yourself a huge disfavor if you don't take in a meal by chef Phillip during your stay ! What a culinary delight ! what a super experience. The fine Oak craftsmanship of the interior is remarkable and the grounds and rooms are stunning ........ Truely delighted ..... Jeff

The Norumbega is definitely one-of-a-kind. Fantastic views, wonderful antiques in every room, private and well manicured grounds and delicious food by Phil Crispo (former Culinary Institute instructor and winner on Chopped!). You can tell there has been a excellent attention to detail from the lovely grapefruity shower gel to the high quality linens. We will be back again soon!

Glad you enjoyed the bath products, bed sheets, towels and all of the amenities. You do realize that Phil really took secret delight in sampling all of the shampoos and soaps in order to put in his vote!

Of my many visits to Camden this was my first stay at the Nornbega. The rooms are large, well appointed and have great views of the beautiful grounds. Being a little north of the downtown area makes it much more private and quieter that the hustle and bustle of many of the other Camden inns I've stayed at. Phil and Sue are the new owners and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Phil is a wonderful chef and Sue is a terrific hostess. I highly recommend the Norembega.
