“best view in the area”

The state park has a wonderful view, we never miss it.

The tower is a great place for photos, and the layby for cars just past it is panoramic, just make sure the brake is set HARD.

Hike or drive up this mountain from the Camden Hills state park. Great views of Penobscot Bay and beyond. If you like camping try this state park. Great sites and things to do.

“Mt Battie, Camden Maine”

Beautiful drive up to the top then views of the town of Camden and the harbor. The scene changes with the season, each as beautiful as the previous. Trails available for a climb up the mountain. Bring a picnic and enjoy the peace.

“Mt. Battie Camden, Maine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

There is a trail up this mountain you can hike or a road you can drive up. It is a spectacular view with all of the islands in the distance and Lake Megunticook in the other direction. The view inspired St. Vincent Millay's poem "Renasance". Be careful when hiking up after a rain 'cause the rocks stay slippery. The Mt. Battie State Park is connected/has many more trails and camping and picnic areas also you can picnic right by the ocean.

It's a nice drive and a great place to look down on the town and harbor of Camden. Nice walks and when in season pick and enjoy wild blueberries.
