“Best view in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2011

Go to the top of the tower and bring a copy of Edna St. Vincent Millay's poem "Renascence". Turn your back on the ocean, "All I could see from where I stood was three long mountains and a wood." (do a 180 turn) "I turned and looked the other way, and saw three islands in a bay." It is an amazing place to view the town of Camden and Penobscot Bay. On a clear day you can see all the way to Acadia National Park. Good hiking trails are also available.

“Hike and Photograph”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2011

The leaves were turning and at the top of the Mount the views were wonderful of both the harbor and the inlets. A photographer would smile, pause and shoot!

“$10? Really? Just hike it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2011

Mount Battie is situation right over the town so you get an extremely photogenic shot. I'm perplexed why it cost us $10 to drive up there. Its 1300 feet up. Just hike it. The terrain isn't very challenging. The only reason we drove it was because of a time constraint.

Whiteface was $10 to drive up but it was 3 or 4 times larger and you could see Montreal. You can't even see the next town from the top of this hill.
