“Good location; thin walls”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

The cheapest rates are calling the hotel itself--they give you a discount if you call them instead of doing it online. The rooms facing the water have a beautiful view and it is worth the extra money to stay in those. The staff is friendly and nice, the rooms clean and nice sized, but the walls are very thin--you can hear your next door neighbor. The breakfast is free but very simple but it is well located.

Room Tip: facing the water on the ground floor. If your room is facing back, the water, it is three stories up...

I spent just one night due to a sport event neaby. The hotel is located by the river with a nice view, in spite of the big factory nearby (you have to ask for a river view room). The room is comfortable and the front desk is friendly. Breakfast is very simple. Overall a nice stay.

Room Tip: Ask for river view

My wife and I just spent a couple nights there in Bucksport because we had to attend a party in a nearby town. The cost for staying at the Inn was very modest and the room was clean and neat. It was worth the price paid. I recommend the Inn to anyone traveling through that area, especially during the Winter months.

Friendly courteous kudos excellent

We cannot thank the staff enough, AnnaLee, Patty, and Pauly. We had to make a very quick 9 hour trip from Bangor, PA for the funeral of a very very dear friend who passed way suddenly. As you would realize we were very distraught over this. The staff all went beyond and above to help us out at a very trying time. They not only were very friendly, and helpful, they were VERY courteous, and professional, understanding of our problems at hand.

The Inn it’s self was very tastefully decorated! VERY clean, safe, comfortable, and warm. The breakfast that was served was excellent, serving orange juice, coffee, tea, buns, cereal etc. Anything you might have forgotten from home such as bath or hair soap, they had it all you had to do is ask. Our room was so very clean and comfortable; we had no trouble in falling asleep!!
I can say this as my husband and I have stayed at many Military Hotels, hotels, motels, and inns; as our son was in the Navy for 9 + years, and in our trips to visit him we have encountered many different continental breakfasts, at one hotel they only served coffee, tea, beagles and apple or oranges. And this was at 7 AM in the morning when they originally served it. Military bases you felt very safe with a guard on duty all night but we did not feel comfortable.

One last thing, I would like to add. I did read all the reviews before making our reservation and well I did see a really petty comment made by another person regarding a TV guide which lowered the Inn’s score. If this person 1) would have asked for one, they would have told them where it was. 2) Looked through the TV channels they would have found a TV guide on channel 20. 3) Looked on the nightstand between the two beds they would have found a white informational note book that the Inn put together. It included the TV guide, places to eat, emergency information such as hospitals and other medical needs; churches; even a map of the famous Fort Knox. So I find that comment a lack in that person’s judgment and should not be counted against the Inn.

In closing all I say is THANK YOU VERY MUCH and KUDOS to the Inn and its Staff.

Room Tip: The Inn has rooms that face the street, but the rooms that face the Fort, water side have an absolut...

A bit out of the way but it was very clean and the beds were really comfy. My only complaint was the breakfast that was provided. There was very little to choose from and it was set out in the very small lobby.

The Inn was clean and spacious. Convenient location to Fort Knox Park. It was lovely waking up with the curtains open and seeing the sun come up on the fort. My sisters family stayed on the street side; which they found to be a bit noisey. Pay the extra to look out over Penobscot Bay. The continental breakfast was nicely displayed, and there was a great assortment

Room Tip: Stay on the water view side of the hotel for a peaceful sleep
