I have not been here for years, since I worked in Brunswick for a while and I also can't compare against the Bombay Mahal seeing as how I have also not been there for some time.
In any case we were delighted with the food here We started with chicken tikka and some wicked good punjabi naan. When asked about our spice preference we asked for medium for the starter and the main dishes. When the waitress asked if the starter was hot enough we thought we could have enjoyed it hotter, so she went ahead and "upgraded" our main dishes to "hot" for us.
I really appreciated this as we got sufficiently spicy food for our main course. I'll know next time that their hot is just right for me.
We had the fish curry and the (veggie) aloo gobhi for our main courses. Wow - really delicious!!
My only negative was that the interior of this place is completely worn out; carpets threadbare and ripped, ancient paint, etc. Presumably the owners are in the restaurant and are just used to the way it looks, but this may turn some folks off. I'd still go back for more, but if the owners reads this - COME ON MAN, spruce the place up.
