“Very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stayed here for a weekend with my girls. Very quaint and in a nice area with local shops and restaurants. We went when the town had their Christmas Tree Lighting and there was snow on the ground so it was very festive.. The beds were comfortable and front desk staff were quite friendly. The restaurant was good however I felt quite pricey. Also free coffee in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

Where do I start - My son and daughter in law had their reception at the hotel in October. For the weekend we also reserved several rooms for family members traveling in from out of state. We had a cross section I think of every room type they offer including both suite styles. Working with Brandon prior to the reception was ok, he sometime is slow to respond but he does get back to you in time. Reservations and working with Kris at the front desk was good and difficult at times. We had to go over things several times and then in the end they still were not correct. The reception staff was friendly and the woman who helped set up make the reception look beautiful but the food and wait service during the reception left much to be desired. Food was not what was selected during tastings, over charging of soda, peoples drinks being taken while they were dancing, etc. We spoke with the head of service during the reception and she did try to correct what she could, we also spoke to the hotel manager and we came to a resolution on pricing for our event - but then they didn't charge my credit card for over a month - that tells me that it is the back office of this hotel that needs work.

The hotel itself is quaint. The rooms are not the largest but they are will appointed. The location in the heart of Brunswick next to Bowdoin and the First Parish Church is what makes this hotel special.

Would we stay at the hotel again - yes, would we hold another event there - maybe.

Everyone at the hotel is friendly and they do try make things right - I just don't think so many things should go wrong though in the first place.

Stayed 1 night as part of a New England Tour. Nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a good choice on the menu. Our room was clean and modern which looked out towards the railway station but we never heard the trains at all.

I have been staying at the Brunswick Hotel and Tavern since it first opened several years ago. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, clean and the service is excellent. Importantly, the reception desk is very well-run and I have always feel welcome upon my arrival.
The food at the Tavern is consistently very good - breakfast omelets are well prepared and the lobster rolls are all lobster meat. Even when I have had dinner at the Tavern on busy evenings, the meals have been well-prepared, using local ingredients when available.
The Hotel is conveniently located and I recommend it both for business and recreational visits.

Room Tip: The rooms I have stayed in are all spacious and WiFi is included in the room charge.

Stayed here for my sister's wedding. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are big, and the service was top notch. The front desk helped with all our needs and the pub stayed open late post-wedding for us. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel looks like an old Inn but is a newer building in the "Inn" style with lovely rooms (we were in a small suite with living room and bedroom) and excellent bathrooms. It is within walking distance of Bowdoin College and downtown Brunswick and adjacent to the Amtrack station. The food in the Tavern was very good and there is excellent, outdoor parking on the property.
The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again on a return to Brunswick.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. A Quintessential New England Inn; in both design, and décor, along with warm and friendly service, is the vision of our team. We look forward to your return.

The Brunswick Hotel and Tavern was the perfect place to hold my Dad's 80th birthday party. The staff, especially Lisa and Brandon, was exceptionally accommodating when our party doubled in size just one month out from the event. The event room worked out great, as we had plenty of room for pre-dinner socializing, dinner, and the musical entertainment we brought in. The food was good; the Limon Cello Cake was magnificent! The staff was also great when our party continued into the bar and outside patio. Many of our party stayed in the hotel, which worked out well. The rooms are very nice. All-in-all we couldn't have picked a better place to hold our party! Thanks to the Brunswick Hotel and Tavern for facilitating many happy memories!

Green Features: They provided recycling bins in the room next to the waste basket.

I am so pleased that we had an opportunity to spend such a special occasion with your family. It was a very fun event and we are happy that both the Robinson room and our patio were such a great fit. Brandon and Lisa are instrumental in our team’s success. Warm regards, Rick
