The ambience is ok.. but they don't have many of the items mentioned on the menu..
We asked for pathiri and they said its available only on weekends, mutton biryani again was available only for lunch not for dinner.
Finally a chicken biryani, beef roast and malabar chicken fry, kerala parathas were ordered.
I ve heard a lot of good things about NBCs biryani.. Although my husband love their biryani...I found it kind of bland.. so did one of our friends.. very little gravy lot of rice, low spice level and tomatoes.. (somehow I don't approve of tomatoes in a visible form in a biryani.. reminds you of tomato rice). . Not a lot of ghee either...Supposedly healthier. . But if you want health .. why order Biryani at all???
The parathas were very tasty.. soft crispy, layered.. exactly how it should be.. beef roast was good. Malabar chicken fry was tasty and different.
Sulaimani was the last thing we ordered which was somehow very synthetic tasting, probably a ready made powder/ bag..
Service was bad.. we were the only people in the restraunt.. still had to do all kinds of cheerleader stunts to get waiters to look at the table
Somehow I think everything tastes better at their Kadavantra branch.. which is also a lot busier
