“Quirky”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

The quirky decorative style may not be to everyone's taste, but this hotel is clean and well located. The same applied to our room, which was fine except for the view out of the window (an apparent design fault results in dirty windows which cannot easily be cleaned).

The rooftop swimming pool and bar are both worth a visit, and we would also commend the breakfast provided.

The hotel is not far from Ernakulam Junction but a tuk tuk / taxi would be required for Fort Kochi.

it was my first stay in Kochi in hotels other than Trident or the Taj,and I came acrosse dream solely because of the Wyndham connection. Check in was a pain,a girl with absolutely no signs of smile on her face ask you to sit in the lounge and you get a feelin as if you re stayon there for free, the way they treat you. Welcome drink was nice though. We were then led to our room, with a very confusin floor numbers on the elevator.. Anyways, the room was excellent. Done up in white, very clean, and with the remote controlled switches and blue lightin..was unique. Don't even bother to look out of the window, because the view is no good. Bathrooms were basic but neat. They had a huge wardrobe. Only negative would be the remote for the lights which wouldnt work sometimes.. But the thing I want to say is that I was disturbed five times durin my one night stay there and for trivial thingfs too. And they kept on bangin the door down till we opened.and the staff weren't a bout courteous.

Worth mentionin is Mainland China..the chain has a restaurant within DREAM and it is good . Very good actually

Check out again was a smile less affair. And when I paid the money and saw the guys face,I decided to never return, other than to go to mainland china .wyndham gettin a bad name here.

Staff was very polite and nice .
Food was beyond excellent. Simply no words to describe it .
It is costly , but good things come at a good price i guess .

The Dream has lofty aspirations, but some fail to be fulfilled. On the up side, the hotel aims for a funky design and a business-friendly yet hip atmosphere and almost makes it. The staff could be better trained but are quite helpful, overall. The hotel restaurant has a good kitchen, with a lovely breakfast spread and decent 24-hour menu. Service in the restaurant, though, seems easily overwhelmed and incapable of speedy service. Likewise the rooftop bar/ resto: pleasant setting, but staff and kitchen are easily overwhelmed by groups.

Dream’s décor is mod and looks good in the photographs, but the reality of blue light with quirky controls can be frustrating – especially in search of a good night’s sleep. Windows – if you have one in your room -- don’t open and are covered in paint, so you cannot see out. Claustrophobic guests would definitely want to avoid queen bedroom number 10 on each floor: no window. If you want a darkened room for sleeping, note that lots of light comes in from the hallway at night, and the night light does not seem to respond to controls: you will need to cover up these lit areas with whatever you can grab to ensure darkness in the room.

The elevators are very slow, and they’ve added another digit to make it seem that the hotel is taller than it is. Walking down or up is definitely an option if you are in a rush; don’t be intimidated by thinking that your room is on the 14th floor!

I found the biggest challenge at the Dream was housekeeping and how it impacted on comfort and safety in the room. The bed was very hard, sheets cotton but seriously pilled (read: not comfy), and the quilt extremely light and not at all up to the very blustery air con which basically had two settings – on (very) and off (stuffy). Carpets – or more accurately, carpet tile squares -- are in need of refreshing, as many are stained and in need of cleaning. On a very sour note, my carpet had shard of glass in it [clearly from a beer bottle] which I gave to the front desk manager the next day. In response, she thanked me, advising subsequently that the shard was from a beer bottle (right on that count) and they would take more care in cleaning the room (not quite the appropriate response, I’m afraid!)

The Dream is almost there, but not quite.

Room Tip: Avoid room 10 : no window!

dream hotel, supposedly part of the wyndham group, but ones by some middle east company, was a pretty good experience. of course, check in wasn't a breeze, and not even half as courteous as a Taj welcome(none can beat them!), but it was a ok kinda affair. but the room, all down in white was stunning, complete with the blue relaxed lighten you can switch on with a remote control! and great food, especially at the Mainland China in the hotel! Didn't get complimentary breakfast, and nothin was mentioned bout it,so maybe i shouldn't ve taken it for grantd. but there wasn't an option to book a room with complimentary breakfast not he website,so i ws expecting it to be included.my bad.

This was really a big surprize. I never thought to land in a hotel with the luxory of Blue and white. The hotel appears really super tidy with these all white finish, and the room is very very cozy, similar to the one we get to see in the bollywood films, where the heroines do all that romantic stuff! The staff is really supportive and courtious, and the guest aminites are well thought of and provisioned.
With an affordable price tag, this hotel provides a different feel during your stay. Would like to return to the same hotel again!

Room Tip: rooms in the fron sides are well lit during the daytime.
