We visited in October and stayed in room 9. This is a large room with a microwave, refrigerator, king bed, and wicker love seat. There are chairs outside the room on the open porch with a view of the harbor. The breakfast was wonderful and the location made it an easy walk into town with no parking problems. Ashley was very helpful and friendly. There is no hair dryer so remember to pack one if you'll need it.

Room Tip: Room 9 was nice.

Before making the booking we looked on the website. The room appeared to be bigger and there was no indication that the terrace would not be private. It turned out that the room was really very small and the terrace formed part of the walkway accessing other rooms. The condition of the decoration in some areas was tired and the door into the breakfast area stuck so much that I had to get someone else to open it for me. The breakfast on the first morning was not of the expected quality, especially having read in the comments book such positive feedback. The Inn Keeper was away for the first day and although the staff tried to be helpful there were several moments when things went wrong and it felt that it was a struggle for them. However when the Inn Keeper returned for the last morning the breakfast was indeed creative and enjoyable and the whole atmosphere seemed to be so much better. Taking into account that it is a reasonably expensive area, I felt that for the service and the accommodation the charges were perhaps a little on the high side.

My husband and I live in Yarmouth, Maine which is about an hour and 20 minutes away from this beautiful little town. We like to do something nice for our anniversary every year and although I was skeptical about staying at a Bed & Breakfast (I am picky on where I sleep) my husband surprised with me a weekend stay at the beautiful Harbour Towne Inn on the waterfront. We have come back three time since then in the past two years. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. The king size beds were comparable to sleeping on a cloud; the best nights sleep I have had. The breakfasts are something I look forward to every time. Stephanie who took over the business from her father three years ago, is not only cheerful making you feel at home and as if you've known each other for years, but her cooking is out of this world. She made us shrimp and gouda quiche, maine blueberry stuffed french toast, veggie fritattas, fresh fruit salad, greek yogurt with homemade granola, sausage egg and cheese bake, and grilled biscuits with raspberry jam. Thank goodness all the neat little stores and activities are all on the same street withing walking distance so I was able to make up for indulging so much during breakfast. I would certainly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a nice relaxing stay at a beautiful and well run family bed and breakfast. Stephanie and her daughter do a fantastic job making your stay as comfortable as they possibly can. I always enjoy my stay and look forward to returning in the near future.

We recently enjoyed a three-day stay at the Inn. The location and guest parking were excellent for walking to town for meals and shopping and excursions to points of interest in the area. The staff was very helpful and the breakfasts outstanding. We were disappointed, however, by the mismatched decorations and furnishing of Room 11. An advertised "style reminiscent of Maine Victorian and traditional past" could also be described as grandma's attic and Goodwill. And the beautiful sign in the front of the inn promoting "The finest B and B on the Waterfront" may have been overstating it a bit because of the untended lawn in front and vegetable garden in back, the unswept parking lot, and the decks around the rooms were in need of painting, general maintenance and more attention to detail That said, the Harbour Towne Inn was a good value, we were pleased with our choice, and we would stay there again.

Very polite staff very helpful with local tips and advise. Room 1 was very nice but the view was somewhat less than promised. From the deck you had a small view of the upper bay but a great view of busy Townsend Avenue which was not mentioned. Had requested a room with a deck and view of the bay for my anniversary and was told this was the best room in the house. My bill of $601. for 3 nights included a special for the 3rd night of 50% off. A little steep for what we got I think.
The fresh breakfast was very good with all home made dishes served between 8:30 and 9:00. The serving area is small and there is only seating in the dining room for 8. In nice weather you can eat on one of the decks.
All in all the location was perfect...very quiet and away from the noise and activity of the center of town but literally a 2 minute walk there. No need to move your car once you check in.
I'd probably stay here again but it is more expensive than comparable B&B's in the area.

We arrived to the smell of fresh baked cookies. Our host was extremely welcoming and showed us around the facility. Magic Dream Bars were in the oven for later. They were very yummy. The room was cozy with a nice balcony. Great place to sit and watch the tide roll in. Overall, a really relaxing place right in town. My partner (David) and I were very pleased with the choice. The room was comfortable with nice amenities. The balcony was nice and good chairs to sit in. Adirondack Chairs along the water too.

I highly recommend the Harbor Towne. And the hosts were wonderful.

Thanks
Christopher.
