The Boathouse Bistro Tapas Bar and Restaurant is quaint 3 story restaurant overlooking Boothbay Harbor. If you don't mind the climb, go up to the top level for the best view. Wish they would put the electrical wires underground, but it's still worth it for the food...The minute you see the appetizers you'll know you're in a special place. We started with the butternut squash soup laced with coconut milk which added a slight sweetness and then started in on the hot appetizer/tapas - we shared 3 items: the Asian Lobster and Crab Cakes, pan seared with a coconut lemon grass sauce, my sister dove into the Maine Maple Scallops, seared medium rare, with a risotto pancake and that famous Maine blueberry sauce and finally the caramelized onion and cheese tartlet..It's 2 months later and I can still enjoy the memory of that lunch...You will not be disappointed in this wide/varied menu..It's gourmet dining in a very casual setting..Check out the menu and the pictures on their web site www.theboathousebistro.com.
