“Best Lobster”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

The Boathouse Bistro
http://www.theboathousebistro.com/
"The Bistro's" Lobster Thermidor – The meat from a 1 1/2 lb. Maine lobster is sautéed in butter, garlic and fresh herbs. It is then flambéed with cognac, served in the shell topped with lobster Newberg sauce and baked gruyere cheese. Served with potato and vegetable of the day. AMAZING Chef Karin Guerin knows what she is doing. Some of the best lobster I have ever had. (and that is saying a lot ;)

“Very nice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

We dined here on our last evening at Booth Bay. So glad we didn't miss it. We sat on the top level. It is open air with a nice atmosphere and view. The food was excellent. I had shrimp risotto, with crab cake appetizer. It was a real treat. We dined with friends and all agreed that the food was very good. The service was friendly and efficient, despite the fact that they were very busy. Will definitely go again if in Boothbay.

“Awesome Tapas!”

Excellent service, great craft brew selection, and the food was amazing! My wife and I consider ourselves "foodies" and the Bistro did not dissapoint! Try the Shrimp and Grits!

“surprising disappointment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This restaurant is heavily praised on the internet, and we were looking forward to a great meal. the evening started well, as the server was helpful and responsive. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for as well. The wood paneled room was warm and the bar active with locals and lively discussion. The beet salad was sad, with some of the beet slices crisp and some soft. Our entrees arrived and the vegetable sides were cool and frankly tasteless. The potatoes had a over-steamed taste. I had the Lobster tail and Corn Succotash that did not have the advertised sauce and scant succotash. My wife also had lobster, but the same sad sides. Looking over all the rave reviews, we can only think that the cooking was "outsourced" that night. It was a Tuesday and around 7 PM - not a late night.
