My boyfriend and I just returned from a lovely Columbus Day weekend at Boothbay Harbor. My boyfriend knew about the Rocktide, having stayed there a few years ago, and also through a trip organized by his place of employment. The Inn is very nice - immaculate rooms, excellent dining, and very friendly staff. The complimentary breakfast had standard fare, but was good - especially the blueberry muffins! You will probably have to wait for a table at breakfast if you go late rather than early. (Breakfast runs from 7:30-9:30.) The rooms are a bit small, but the higher priced rooms have a lovely view of the bay. (All rooms have access to a balcony.) My one big criticism has to do with the bathroom. It was tiny!!! The tub and toilet area is separated by a door, and it's tough to even turn around when the door is closed. Also, there is no door to close off the sink area from the rest of the room. So, if you're like me, and don't like to disturb anyone when you're drying your hair in the morning, forget it! They are also skimpy with towels. There was no coffee pot in the room, something I have grown used to. The location of this inn is super - a 5-minute walk across the bridge into town. If you are a smoker though, find another place...this is no smoking place and there is a fine for smoking in the room and/or on the balcony. (They do allow smoking on the deck out back though.) Would we stay here again? Well, possibly, but I would check out the other motels in the immediate vicinity first and then decide.
