“Love this place!”

I don't know what I can add to the other recent reviews but here goes...We were there two days and left this morning.
We loved the Motel and the Restaurant. Neither could be any nicer. We ate there both nights and also had breakfast. I recommend you arrive before your dinner reservation and get a drink in the lounge in back. Take it out on the deck and enjoy the million dollar view.

I'm attaching two pictures of the left and right view from our room (213). Note that this is the "Inner Harbor" room view. The open harbor view rooms cost a little more ($20 when we were there). There is plenty of free parking at the motel.

The room was sparkling new and clean. I believe all the furniture was brand new including the flat screen TV. The room is large and the bathroom small. We found it to be pretty quiet at night.

If you are sleeping late or a light sleeper, you may want to avoid the first floor waterfront rooms as the foot traffic passes by.

This motel is on the opposite side of the harbor from the shops in the main section of Boothbay Harbor. However, it appears to be the side with most of the lobster 'shacks'. It might be a half mile scenic walk around the harbor to Town across a delightful footbridge. Or, you can drive over and get an all-day parking pass at one of the lots ($10 to $15 when we were there).

Room Tip: All are water view and the "inner harbor" rooms (on the side of the motel running way from...

Brown's Wharf is nothing if it isn't for thier views of the harbor. Rooms were comfortably large. Nothing posh, but we knew that going in. What we wanted was the View and the balcony on the water....and did they deliver. Easy walk into the main town area.

Room Tip: View, View, View.

I have never, ever stayed at a tourist hotel before. You know, local owned, 1950's style rectangle with balconies, usually 3-4 stories max...on site dining room, usually on water. Nope...saw them as irritation waiting to happen.

Was I surprised! Wife and I returning home from a "work crisis" shortened vacation and came through Booth Bay Harbor. We stayed there many moons ago when first married so decided to stay again.

Looked at Trip Advisor for suggestions-it said Browns #1. I drove to it and said nope---not my place. Senior Management (the wife) made the decision it was "fine". VERY reluctantly went to register like an obedient husband must at that point.

Asked for a water view (later found all have that). The owner worked on my request---two views---to the open water and the "inner harbor (read behind the L ahaped place). Unfortunately the open water she tried to get us was taken by an internet reservation as she was working on ours. She was genuinely upset she couldn't get us the room she wanted! Two others helped her with the computer to see if it was possible...they went way past the point of hospitality---they seemed to care! We ended up with the inner harbor room.

OK---so far staff very nice and accomodating---now to the dingy, moldy, cigarette smoke stinking room with noisy neighbors and poor hvac.

Nope---very clean, fresh smelling, pleasantly furnished room---with new flat screen HD type TV. Slider to the balcony (I said they all have them) over looked the end of BB Harbor...not the greatest view but it was water. All areas needing paint were painted---no chips, mold, rot or anything. Could I have been wrong all these years??

Had dinner at the on site restaurant---yup---was very good.

Now to sleep---noise? Nope---neighbor on either side and were barely noticeable....the place passed that test too.

Price---about $150 with tax included.

Clean, quiet, good location, very friendly people, good restaurant...believe me-I am a pain on places to stay (again, ask Senior Management). This was a very pleasant surprise. They get it, and they get it right the first time. Thanks for the place and all the work to get it to where its at. A must if you are in the area.

Room Tip: Open water vs inner harbor better view, but all ok

We found the Brown's Wharf Inn to be a pleasant stay. It was clean and all rooms had a nice view. It is on the other side of the harbor than all the shops and restaurants, but the walk isn't too bad. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We returned for our fourth time to Brown's Wharf Inn - my husband's 61st birthday celebration. Staff wonderful - view incredible and located away from the noisy side of Boothbay. Every time we are here we relax immediatley upon arrival. While the bathrooms are a bit on the small side and the pillows THIS trip were hard - we have already booked our trip for next year. It is easy to either walk to the "downtown" of Boothbay over the bridge, or just wait and catch the trolley. The only thing I wish they would do is accomodate smokers with a place outside to sit - we don't mind not smoking in the rooms or the porches/balconies - but a small area with chairs, etc. would be a great enhancement.

Room Tip: Treat yourself and get a harbor view room - you won't regret it.

Our first stay at Brown's was the weekend before the fourth of july this year. We've stayed in Boothbay Harbor several times, but this was our first time at Brown's. The room was more than adequate and the view cannot be beaten. We were on the first floor facing the harbor, and we may has well have been on the deck of our own yacht! The meals were delicious, and dining outside or in was a pleasure. The only drawback was the painfully S-L-O-W wifi connection. But we've decided to overlook that and are heading back this weekend for an end-of-summer stay in a deluxe corner suite. Can't wait. Hope the fire will be burning in the dining room.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the harbor cost more, but the view is worth it.

We have stayed here many times and always have had an outstanding experience. The rooms and food are always dependably good and the the staff could not be more accomodating. We plan to return every year.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the harbor on the first floor near the resturant have been our choice.
