Captain Joe Tassi and his first mate, Rob, made us feel comfortable and right at home aboard the Schooner Lazy Jack. Three of us chose to sail with the Lazy Jack because the wooden ship, built in 1947, had character and was in excellent shape. Plus the $30 per person rate for a 2 hour cruise fit our budget and the 9:30 am departure fit our schedule on June 21st.
The day was fairly calm with very comfortable temperature. Winds were light that day, yet we enjoyed our cruise out in Boothbay Harbor. Seals and porpoises played nearby enriching our experience. We also enjoyed our conversation with Captain Joe about his 27 year music background in Nashville and love for sailing. The Schooner Lazy Jack is a winner for something to do in Boothbay Harbor.
