“A Must Do!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

An excellent experience from the boat ride over to Cabbage Island to the excellent and authentic lobsterbake to meeting and greeting the friendly Moore family who own the Island. You get alot for your money and it is definitely worth it. Everyone comes back satisfied and happy!

“Good tour and great lobster”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

We went on this tour for the clam bake but the additional water tour of the bay area was very pleasant too. The lobster bake is authentic but mass produced by the owers and young adults who they hire for the summer. They do a very good job. I say mass produced as they have established an assembly line where they load up your plate and tray with 2 lobsters etc etc. and you just pick it up and walk back to your picnic table. It is great to eat outside as lobster is messy and no cares how messy it gets. There is a server assigned to each area that gets your drinks and your desert, also peroidically emties your lobster discard bowl, so you have everything you need.
What most inpressed me was that this little island is owned by the family that runs this tour. And the Grandma, a 92 year old lady with a walker came around to each table to see if everything was OK. How is that for real old fashion care and service! They also have a large covered area that they can use in inclement weather, and some people chose to eat there.

The picnic tables are place so that you don't feel at all crowded. A very pleasant way to have a true Maine experience.

“Bring your appetite!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Great boat ride out to the island and the meal is a feast. Two good sized lobstahs, bowl of steamers, baked potato, corn (the corn wasn't great but who cares) and lots more. The meal was great and there was time to walk around and explore the island with my 10 yr old daughter (she only ate one lobster so I had three).

“Don't miss this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Family owned and operated. 2 lobsters apiece for lunch! Family matriarch came around to tables and checked on us even though she's in her 80s and had to use a walker. Moore family very hospitable! Great boat tour of harbor.

“Awesome excursion!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

We went to Cabbage Island for the clam bake aboard the Bennie Alice: great experience! The ride over (1 hour) was nice and slow, with lots of information about all the sights. The family and workers on the island were extremely friendly and accomodating. My steamers weren't the greatest but you get to 2 lobsters (!), that certainly helped dull the pain! Overall a very nice day trip. Took about 4 hours total.
