On a recent trip to Maine my wife and I discovered L'Auberge Inn in Bethel. The Inn has a wonderful atmosphere and is delightfully furnished. The room we had had a wonderful bed with a down comforter and linens that, in my opinion, rivaled that of the Westin's heavenly bed. The bathroom was spacious and had a nice selection of upmarket shampoos and soaps. The atmosphere of the inn was a blend of "french country" with a large dollop of British hospitality. he inn keeper Adam Adler was from London and quite the host. He cooks the breakfasts in the morning which started with warm chocolate chip muffins and included fresh blueberry pancakes. We ate dinner their, on what I thought would be a quite Monday night. The restaurant was busy and the food far, far better than I expected in Bethel. Adam's wife Alex is the chef and visited with us during the meal to see how everything was. The service at the inn and restaurant was great. My wife and I plan to go back there this fall to see the leaves.
