“Our favorite place in Bethel and most everywhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

"The Milton" as we call it in Bethel is a wonderful small and intimate place for the best seafood (those Nantucket scallops!!!) anywhere in Maine. The lobster roll is our favorite lunch on the deck during summer, and when the cold weather comes, we snuggle inside with chowders and bisque, or perhaps a steamed lobster. Good draft beer and a small but excellent wine list add to the delights of this cozy spot, as does the courteous wait-staff. Don't miss the Milton!!

“Absolutely brilliant, so good we went back twice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014 via mobile

If you are looking for a quiet, homely atmosphere with some great seafood and friendly ambience, this is the place. Our conclusion is that if we die and go to heaven, then they will serve Nantucket scallops there! We were so impressed that we went again. Don't miss out on visiting here if you get the chance. Special note from my wife is try the Blueberry Martini, it's Devine.

“I love seafood!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

I love seafood and S.S. Milton has great seafood. We visited the restaurant on new years eve, the place was busy but the food and service were excellent. People in our group were enjoying lobsters, scallops, shrimp, and prime rib. I had the Boothbay Fettucini which was loaded with scallops and lobster in a rich white sauce. Chocolate Mousse for desert rounded out the meal. I live here in town and don't eat here enough. That will have to change in 2014!

“Wow! The best food in Bethel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2013

This homey and warm restaurant serves up the best food in Bethel, and we've been coming here for 20 years. Forget about those overpriced restaurants on the mountain in Sunday River, drive into the beautiful, quaint town of Bethel, and enjoy the best of Maine cuisine served up by dedicated and professional staff. Stan Milton, the chef-owner, is an AMAZING chef, and the fare is quite sophisticated and well prepared. Try anything, and you will be happily suprised that the fish dishes are cooked to perfection, the steaks just the way you ordered them, and everything else is perfect. The SS Salad is what you'd get in a NYC 4-star restaurant. Do Not Skip Dessert. The chocolate lava cake is to die for, as are all the other offerings. A children's menu is offered as well.

“Good food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

In the town of Bethel, not busy when we were there, so had a quiet table. The service staff was attentive, the menu carried traditional fare, focusing on seafood.
