We stayed here for just a night early in October- it's a short drive from the ski area- or you can take a bus. The rooms are quaint and very clean- very New England-y- which to a West Coaster like myself, was a welcome breath of air. Speaking of which- if you are going to Bethel pack warm- it's cold up there! But I would absolutely tell you to stay at the Jolly Drayman (what is a drayman anyway?). And have a hot drink at the pub downstairs while you're there! You'll need it!
As to the pub- I thought it was a bity odd how they served Indian food at first- being British influenced and all- but I learned that was also a staple food type in many real British pubs! Who knew?!
