We stayed at the Chapman Inn during February vacation with our kids, ages 17 and 20. We had the 2 third floor rooms, which included a small sitting area with a bathroom between them. This arrangement worked out well for us. The sitting area included a foldup bed, which my daughter chose to use rather than sleep in the queen bed with her brother.
The rooms and Inn were neat and clean. The Inn dates from the Civil War, so no surprise that the floors were uneven and creaky. The biggest downside was the bathroom. As someone else mentioned, the sloped ceilings made it way too short for my 6'2" husband and 6' son. My husband would have given only 3 stars for this reason.
The breakfast was great. Plenty of food, fresh baked breads, muffins and cinnamon rolls to die for. Hot foods included eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon. Fresh fruit too.
We did see the dog snap at a couple people, so keep your distance. The cat was very pleasant.
