“Comfortable and cozy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

My boyfriend, parents, and I stayed for a night at the inn before a wedding. It was so charming and comfortable and we couldn't stop raving about it all weekend. We loved everything about it and will absolutely be back. Our only regret is that we didn't book for 2 nights. Much preferred to staying in a generic hotel room.

Remember, this is a Bed and Breakfast from a previous era. If you are looking for hotel stay, you will not find it here. It's exactly what I expected though - feels like you are staying in an old home. Yes, there is some exposed pipes and patches in the wall as mentioned in the other reviews, but we found our room to be clean. No musty smells. We stayed in Room #4 and it was quite large. We had a private bathroom and a full size couch in our sitting area. Bed was high off the ground - had to jump up a bit, but very comfortable. Softest sheets you can imagine - never find that in a hotel. We had a wall A/C, huge fan in the closet and windows on three sides of the room. Great location just down the street from Bethel Inn. We ate dinner at 22 Broad which is nice and within walking distance (try the Root Beer Martini for a cute surprise) Breakfast included fresh blueberries and raspberries from the garden. Also had fresh baked pumpkin bread and homemade cookies. Breakfast Fritatta was amazing! Pat the Inn Keeper is very sweet and tries to give everything a personal touch. I wish the sitting areas were more inviting - perhaps a library of books or magazines (besides the basic tourist brochures) I would have like to hang out downstairs a little longer. Only reason I gave it a 4/5 is I thought the price was a bit high for off-season. I realize a lot of upkeep for an older place, but hard to pay that in such a small town. Though to be fair, the "executive suites" down the street from the Inn was was much, much cheaper but looked in desparate need of repair.

We found our stay at this Inn to be one of the highlights of our trip to the northeast this August. While I don't know much of its history, it appears to be a huge old Victorian home renovated for guests. It has the old world high ceilings, double-hung windows, and wood floors customary of well-to-do houses "back in the day". The pricing was reasonable, and included a full breakfast. The owner/host Patricia Thurston was gracious throughout our stay and provided an excellent gourmet breakfast.

Room Tip: We opted for the suite on the second floor.

We stayed for two nights and it was perfect. Bethel is close to a lot of great hiking areas and the Inn is right in town so you can walk anywhere. The hotel, service and food could not have been better. We had a great time.

This Inn has such charm right down to the minute details. Stepping thru the doors, I felt transported to an era of craftsmanship and beauty. The bed was extra comfy and the bathrooms spotless. Pat has preserved this lovely home and makes her guests feel as if they are being welcomed home. The breakfast was wonderful and I had special dietary needs she helped me meet. Her warmth and willingness to make your stay meaningful make this a treasure I will always come back to!

We rented the entire Victoria Inn for our family reunion in July. Pat, the Innkeeper, was very helpful in organizing and preparing for us. There were 20 adult and 17 children and we "took over" the Inn. Pat was able to accommodate everyone in a room that fit their needs and that worked for their family. She made an amazing breakfast each morning and had something for everyone. It was a great option for our family to all stay together in one large place and each have our own room and bathroom. The kids had a great time together as did the adults. We will certainly consider this option for our next family reunion!

Room Tip: Nice Family suites out back, and beautiful romantic rooms upstairs in the front of the Inn.

Deciding to visit the bethel area instead of bustling Conway with traffic and congestion made our weekend getaway a time to remember. The scenic back roads and highway running through the area rival the Kangamangus Highway without the bumper to bumper traffic.
We stayed at the Victoria Inn, the place was great!!! The woodwork, beautiful staircase and charming sitting rooms are all what you'd expect from a New England Victorian Inn and for the money a fantastic value. Upon arrival we were greeted by Pat the Innkeeper, she showed us our room and was generous in upgrading our room which we found very clean, comfortable and gave us a great nights sleep. In the morning a fresh pot of coffee was brewing, the specially requested breakfast was served up promptly and was very delicious, Pat knows how to cook!!
Overall impression is very positive for the Victoria inn, clean, good homey service and i would stay again and at the price charged, a real value. My hope is that this Victorian and other around New England are discovered by travelers so they can continue to be part of our history preserved.
The Bethel area IS so much more than a top notch ski slope, get off the beaten path and discover this fantastic area, there is so much to see...so glad we skipped the tourist trap on the other side of the mountain!!
