“Loved the Victoria Inn”

The Victoria Inn

Mar 31, 2008

We just got back from our trip to Maine / Sunday River where we did some last XC skiing for the season... After reading all previous reviews for the Victoria Inn, we were confident to book a room there, and it was the right choice! This place is wonderful, and the owners, Stacey and Kamil, would go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible! The Victoria Inn is the old fashioned building, decorated with taste and character, cozy and clean! We took advantage of their full menu breakfast, and boy, we didn't regret -it was outstanding, as well as dinner we had at the restaurant the night before - absolutely delicious and just perfect! They really give attention to quality. The Victoria Inn is a perfect example when the owners REALLY care of their guests, and do their best to make sure that your stay is relaxing, enjoyable and comfortable... We can't wait to get back there!

We stayed at the Victoria two nights while skiing at nearby Sunday River. We stayed in Room # 4, which has a jacuzzi tub (perfect for a post ski soak). The room is very clean, spacious, and quiet. What a beautiful Inn! The breakfasts were delicious, and the owner, Stacey is so kind. We accidentally left a couple jackets and she was sure to mail them to us. I hope to return soon and recommend this Inn to anyone.

In planning a foliage trip and looking for a place to stay in Bethel Maine, I made reservations at the Victoria Inn. I checked the reviews on this page after I had made reservations and then got a little uneasy - there were many glowing reviews but several that were really, really bad. Our visit could not have been better - our room was comfortable and charming and breakfast was delicious. Mostly, however, Stacey and her staff were so gracious and made us feel so welcome. She said they had acquired the B&B recently, which I am confident accounts for the negative reviews. We would absolutely return for a visit (if we get back to Maine) and will recommend the Victoria Inn to others. Actually, I guess that's what these reviews do....

“Food coniseur's dream! Gorgeous suites & rooms, much more than one would expect!”

Worth an hour drive just to eat in this restaurant! Absolutely wonderful gourmet dishes. A dining experience that makes tastebuds come alive! Stacey, the owner was a wonderful hostess and though we weren't staying at the Inn, gave us a full tour. The rooms are outstanding and much more than one would typically expect from a small town Inn/B&B, not to mention the wonderful ambiance and romance of it's gorgeous Victorian era architecture.

Thank you Stacey, we will be back!!

“Great B&B for viewing fall colors”

The Victoria Inn worked out perfectly for our trip to Maine to view the fall colors. It is in a lovely small town, near the White Mountains but not in the main tourist areas. We often stay at B&Bs when traveling in Europe, and what makes a B&B stand out is often the owner. Stacey is a natural at this, she obviously enjoys running the Inn and restaurant, and warmly treats each guest as an individual. The food was very good. The breakfast was light but very good, we had the shirred eggs (baked and creamy) and also the granola (one of the best I've had), the iced pumpkin cookies upon our arrival were delicious. We were able to have dinner only one night - I had the Osso Bucco - it was really, really good. The restaurant was busy at lunch and dinner - so has a good reputation in the local community. Our room was lovely - everything looks new, it was comfortable and CLEAN!
A memorable driving tour was a loop through the Rangeley Lake area. The views of the lakes and mountains up hwy 17 and 4 are spectacular. The return via hwy 142 was special - no one else on the road, the colors were peaking with a view of the bright mountain at the end of the road.
