“Tucked away little gem in quaint little town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

I discovered this little gem quite by accident while out walking early one morning so when we returned to the area we checked to see if they had any rooms available. If you prefer a more down to earth, unique experience with ambiance and very good food - check this place out! Woody went out of his way to accommodate us even though they were on the heals of an extra busy festival weekend. The room was spacious, very clean, comfortable bed and a window AC unit (not sure all rooms have AC - maybe ask). We were served a delicious dinner and a made-to-order breakfast before we left the next day. Friendly service - very personable.

There are very few hotels/B&Bs that I would return to simply because of the atmosphere of the hotel itself. Mill Hill in is a rare exception. It has everything you could possibly need: clean and comfortable rooms, restaurant, game room, bar, live entertainment, and a warm welcoming staff. I will be back!

We stayed here and attended a fifty year Telstar Reunion. It was a wonderful evening with old friends. Woody is an exceptional host! He and his staff did an excellent job to make sure our reunion was an unforgettable one. The appetizers and drinks were outstanding and the meal was wonderful. We all had such a great time. They have everything you need to enjoy your stay in Bethel, ME. The breakfast the next morning put the finishing touches to a one night stay.

We stayed at this fantastic establishment this summer and couldn't be more satisfied with quality and value. The owner, Woody, went WELL BEYOND what was needed to make our stay a great one, including providing a tie that I forgot to bring for a wedding. The food is high quality and the atmosphere is second to none.

Highly recommended!

I just loved this little BB, the owners are so down to earth! We felt like they were old friends from the momet we walked in. I loved that i was able to help myself to coffee in the morning in the kitchen, I felt like i was at home. Woody and Lee have done an outstanding job updating this 1800 old home. The food in the resturant was also very good and resonable. The bar had a very cozy and inviting atomoshere.

Room Tip: we stayed in number 5, it was a nice corner room

I love this Inn! Woody and Lee have found the secret formula! Comfort, cleanliness, amazing food, awesome drinks and and wonderful energy oozing from every nook and cranny! As soon as I entered the Inn I felt like I had come home - most welcoming. My only regret is that I could only stay one night but it was a wonderfully peaceful night. Do yourself a favor and try the Mill Hill Inn. Woody, Lee & Aaron - I can't thank you guys enough. See you soon!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mill Hill. The inn is comfortable and charming, and it is close to area recreation venues as well as the main street of Bethel. Woody went out of his way to accommodate our needs, and we sincerely appreciated his hospitality. We would definitely stay at the Mill Hill again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Mill Hill Inn, originally a barn built in the 1870s, was first converted into a private home in 1948 and then into a B & B in 1977. Lee and Woody Hughes purchased the inn in April of 2010 and renovated this wonderful structure from top to bottom during that summer. The newly renamed Mill Hill Inn opened its doors September 9, 2010. The inn is located just off the historic district on the north end of the Bethel Common, on a secluded acre and a half. This private setting is beautifully landscaped with both ornamental, vegetable, and herb gardens, producing food and flowers for the inn. The leveled lawn space adjacent to the front door area provides ample space for a 30' x 50' tent, suitable for weddings and private affairs. The Studio Bistro & Bar offer a unique menu and a full bar, served in the Great Room as well as in our dining room. The inn has six rooms, two of which are suites. All rooms come with new king sized beds, all cotton bedding, and private baths. The suites provide guests with kitchens and can sleep six to eight people. Rent one room or the entire inn, which can comfortably sleep twenty-two guests. ... more   less
