I have had the unfortunate opportunity to go to Sunset Grill every summer for over the past 10 years. I usually go once every summer. Then I remember why I shouldn't go there. If you like big piles of overpriced food-this is your place. I go for "quality" or "quantity." For the price they charge, you should go to the Village Inn. Much better establishment and "no flies."

“Good enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

The Sunset Grill is an average, pubby restaurant. When we're in Belgrade and looking for a fairly inexpensive place for a burger and a beer, this is where we go. It's not fine dining, but it's a good place to go if you're in a hurry, with children or on a tight budget. Plenty good enough for the money.

“Good food, convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

Belgrade Lakes is a fun place to stop and the Sunset Grill offers good food at a reasonable price. They had TV's on which I consider a nuisance but the volume was fairly low so it didn't intrude too much. My waitress brought me a menu right away and returned in a flash with my ice tea. I had a Mexican chicken wrap which tasted healthy was very good as well.

“As long as you're not in a hurry...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2011 via mobile

Been dozens of times. Burgers are good, breakfasts are good, homemade soups usually good. Service almost always very slow, even when not busy. Rest of menu ho hum. Salads insipid. Interior down-at-heels.
In Belgrade Lakes, and mapped wrong.

“Best local spot around”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2011

First, let me make it clear that this is a local hangout, the waitresses and the customers are all friends and know each other by first name, and in general the place is a dive. BUT, it's great! For $11.25 the large green pepper and mushroom pizza is tasty and ample. The #5 chicken sandwich is great and the spicy fries are great. You MUST get Loon Legs appetizer if you go - the best chicken wings I've ever had. I've been told the locals dislike the summer people because the summer people are able to tip the waitresses better, so the waitresses pay more attention to the summer folks than the locals. So don't expect to strike up a conversation with the local guys. Sad, but true. But, this is without a question the best place in the Belgrade Lakes area to go for an easy dinner in your jeans.
