“Great hidden spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

My wife and I ate here last week while on a short visit to Maine. This is a fun setting where you can easily bring a family of kids all ages. I had the Steamed Clams which were wonderful. Sweet and tasty. My wife had a lobster. Although a good taste it was a little rubbery. Also it was only a 1lb. lobster which could have something to do with it. We will certainly come back to this hidden spot.

“Lobster at a true Maine "Lobster Pound" - Great Dining Experience!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

Started going here years ago. It is very informal, so informal, we bring our own picnic basket of items to make the experience more enjoyable! This is a true lobster pound! Translation for tourists: Lobstermen bring their freshly caught lobster, clams, etc. directly to this establishment and you can literally pick out your lobster (if you wish) and they will boil it while you wait. They also serve very minimal sides, corn on the cob when in season, some canned soft drinks. We bring our own tablecloth, plates, WINE & BEER (yes, you can bring your own booze and drink at this establishment), glasses, side dishes, desserts, etc. and it is the best spot for dining outdoors on picnic tables on Penobscot Bay. Belfast Harbor is across the way, the sunsets are amazing, setting behind the Passy River/Belfast Harbor. A fantastic experience, not to be missed. Also, if you don't have the pre-packed picnic baskets for all of the extras, no problem, just bring your own beer, and they will provide the rest. Being a local, I can easily assemble the extras to make the experience more enjoyable. Note: A quick stop at any of the local grocery stores for booze and sides and voila! Perfect dinner/lunch! Memorable, so don't forget your camera! There is also an upstairs screened in dining area for those who don't want to be outside.

“Perfect end to a sunny summer day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

There is no more wonderful way to end a delightful summer day than sitting at ocean's edge eating a lobster dinner at Young's. If you prefer clams or mussels, there are no fresher or cleaner ones around. The service is always friendly, too.

“Give it a try!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Food is good. Staff friendly. I feel as though it may be a little pricey. However I may be wrong.
It is a good experience though.
