“Genuine warm welcome and hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

Rachel gave us a lovely welcome on our arrival to our first B&B in USA. After our hot drive from Boston I really enjoyed a fresh cup ot tea (we are British!). The fittings and feel of the Kennebec Inn immediately made us realise we had chosen a quality place.
Rachel helped us choose a good sea food restaurant, and gave us a good breakfast to start the day.
But the icing on the cake was her opening the super swimming pool for a pre-breakfast swim - the best we have had on this wonderful trip to America.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to others. Rachel makes you feel right at home and treats you like you were part of her family. Our room was always kept very clean. The breakfast was very good also.

Thank you Rachel for such a wonderful experience. The restaurant, travel and attractions tips were a huge help!! Donna was extremely impressed with your meeting her dietary needs, the breakfasts were superb.and the beach kit was awesome. I could honestly go on and on about the wonderful, clean, and beautiful property you have. Next time we go to the Maine coast we'll be staying with you again.
Thanks again for helping to make our vacation so enjoyable.

This inn in Bath, Maine had been recently and lovingly restored. We stayed in the Remington Room at the back of the house. The room was spacious and well appointed with lovely antiques, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large and also very nicely updated.
The grounds are nicely maintained with a pool and bonfire pit in the back. Rachel, the owner, is charming and is very concerned that her guests enjoy their stay. She even offered bug spray when we sat outside with another couple.
Breakfast was ample with fresh local fruit, juice, coffee and an egg and potato casserole with sausage links.
We often travel with Bed and Breakfast gift cards and Rachel accepts those. My only complaint was that our window was open for the fresh air but the noise of highway 1 nearby was awful. I would choose a quieter room close the window and run a fan to drown out the highway.

Room Tip: The Remington Room is beautiful but my only complaint was that our window was open for the fresh air...

We loved this place, we stayed for a few nights and went to the Maritime Museum and other attractions around Bath. We stayed in the two rooms upstairs and they were fantastic. Talk about a nice house, the place is amazing and very well kept. You won't be disappointed when staying here.

The breakfast was to die for, every meal was prepared perfectly. The french toast we received was very delicious! She even made special arrangements for food because of dietary restrictions. Excellent three course meals served on beautiful Blue Willow China.

The service was exceptional, the host gave lots of advice and was very helpful. The only complaint we had was that the wifi didn't work and was off completely our second night. Other than that, the place is amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone!!

Room Tip: The top two rooms combine through a bookcase. Very nice!

Dear Tynow,

Thank you all the nice compliments. So glad we had the Grand Suite to accommodate your family of five. We also enjoyed your stay with us at the Inn.

Sorry the wifi was down on your second night. But the good news, it's being worked on..

Hope you're enjoying the remainder of your vacation in our wonderful state on Maine, and hope you got to try those pop overs at the Jordon Pond House!!

Best Regards,

Rachel & Ken

We were arriving on Saturday for our grandson's wedding. We called Rachel the owner and asked if we could check in a little early since we needed to get ready for the rehearsal dinner and she was very accommodating. From there on everything was top notch service until we checked out 6 days later. We just don't know what Rachel could have done to make things any better. Excellent breakfasts, large rooms with clean fresh linens and bathrooms. Plenty of parking, and a large front porch to just sit and relax. Large pool large enough to swim laps. Very convenient to the town of Bath and the roads to the various beaches and restaurants. One morning I came down early for a cup of coffee and asked for a mug in lieu of the china cup. The next morning she had a mug ready for me for my coffee (SERVICE Excellence)!
A variety of choices each morning for breakfast (fresh blueberry muffins, home made granola, egg souffle, fresh fruit and more). All is made fresh by Rachel in her Professional Viking kitchen. Rachel would ask when we would be out so she could schedule house keeping while we were gone. It just doesn't get any better than this..we look forward to our next trip to Maine.

We recently spent one night with Rachael at the Kennebec Inn. She is an amazing hostess. We had dietary restrictions and she went out of her way to accommodate us and still provide a delicious breakfast. Our room had all the amenities. The room was up a narrow, steep set of stairs. No problem for us, but it might be for some. She had other rooms if you can't climb stairs.
She gave us suggestions for restaurants and what to see in the area. We took her advise and ate at the Taste of Maine and it was beyond our expectations. (We had the local fish) We also visited the nearby Maritime museum thing we would spend 2 hours, but ended up spending most of the day. Its that good.
I highly recommend this Inn.
