“Will return to this hotel another time!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Bangor after spending 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in North Conway 2 nights. We wanted to break up the long trip home. I was unsure about booking this hotel due to some negative reviews on Tripadvisor but we were very pleased with our stay. We arrived two hours early and since our room was cleaned htey allowed us to check in early. Our room was a double room with two double beds for us and our two children. The room was very roomy and clean. The bathroom was small but adequate and very clean as well. Our room included a microwave, a fridge and a big screen tv, which made us happy. The kids loved the pool while we soaked our weary feet in the hottub. Service was very good, check in and check out was quick and easy. We did not have breakfast included and did nto feel the buffet was worth 8.95 a person so we asked the staff where we should go. They recommended a great truck stop a cpl miles down the road, called Dysarts. It was very good and we will return there our next trip to Bangor. Location was very good to the shopping area as well, we were only a few minutes down the highway to the Bangor Shopping areas. We were here during Black Friday weekend.

Nice Hotel, Clean and Friendly in Typical Holiday Inn Fashion. Very Nice and Accomdating Front Desk staff, Its always nice to see the Housekeeper smiling every once and while and they did. Easy access to the highway. Quite bar, but easy engough to grab a burger and a beer if you dont want to go out. Always a plus having a Fridge and Microwave in the room which this hotel did. Would be happy to stay here again if in maine.

Rooms were spacious and very clean and a bonus was the micro wave and fridge. Front desk staff were quite friendly and accomodating. This hotel is a little out of the way for shopping, but a ten minute drive on the highway and you can be at the mall. Tim Hortons and Dunkin Donuts are very close for that late nite tea or coffee.

I spent one night in this hotel after my flight was delayed getting into Bangor. This hotel was close to the airport and was nice and clean. There are quite a few hotels in the area, but this one looked like one of the newest. My room was fine - I had a king room which was clean and spacious. There is a bar on the premises which serves food but it closed at 9:00 and room service stops at 9:00 also so plan to be there earlier if you want food in the hotel. There is a Ground Round a few blocks down and a Tim Hortons and that is about all there is in the area. They do not have breakfast as this is not a Holiday Inn Express but there is a Dunkin Donuts right next door. There is a coffee maker in the room so you can have coffee. This hotel was close to I-95 so it was easy for me to continue my journey the next morning.

I stayed here last year and had a so-so stay. I came back to Bangor this year for a last-minute visit. A much better stay this time. Since last year, they have upgraded the rooms with newer furniture and modernized bathrooms. I would recommend a room on the top floor--large and quiet.

Bangor is not what I'd call a huge tourist destination. For us, it is a means to an end - shopping! We use it as a layover spot en route to the outlet destinations in Maine and New Hampshire. So for that purpose I would say this hotel is fine.

I didn't find it anything special, but it was certainly up to a USA Holiday Inn standard. I find the Canadian ones tend to be newer and therefore it's not really fair to compare the two. Our room was clean, and the front desk service was great. Having a fridge and a microwave in the room was very helpful for travelers who want to bring their own food. There are a lot of hotels on this Odlin Road strip, so you have plenty of options for any price range. Also, I would say most travelers come by car. Accessing major shopping areas by car took us about 5 minutes so I wouldn't knock the location as being too far away from anything.... unless you love to be in the heart of the action. In which case Bangor probably isn't for you ;)

I wouldn't pay $150 for this room, but it was worth a $100 stay. The lack of a free included breakfast is a real negative in my opinion since that is offered at many other places of the same caliber. We couldn't complain too much about that however because we got this room on a "Points break" reward night for 5000 points. Air miles/Points collectors take note: Google points break reward nights to check out the ICH group listing of hotels. There might just be one in your area that you can get for this price... usually they go for 20000-25000 a night so it was a real deal.

Overall, I would recommend this property if you're just looking for a bed to sleep in that's clean at the middle or end of a long road journey.

This hotel was just o.k. - quiet, room was clean and looked like they just did upgrades.
Not really close to anything- had to get on the interstate to get anywhere/restaurants, etc. We would stay in another location if we went back to Bangor. They didn't have a free continental breakfast but did have a restaurant.
