My wife and I had the pleasure of discovering this venue on an "extra" honeymoon evening stranded in Bangor due to weather up and down the Atlantic Coast. Nocturnem Draft Haus is clearly a place that "gets it" with regard to its mission - to provide a first-rate selection of international and local craft brews, with a lean but mean range of bar dishes to go along with them. We had a couple of beers from Black Bear Brewery of Orono, Maine - the Pail Ale and the Tree Hugger Barleywine, both of which were excellent. We dined on the sample platter and the Black & Bleu Flatbread - perfect. The only minor suggestion would be to swap out the Gouda, which isn't the best cheese on its own, with something like a cheddar that's more approachable (Barely Buzzed from Beehive Cheese, for a fine example).
Additionally, the space itself is really well designed and decorated, and the staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. This is a great brewpub all-round, and an incredible find in such a small city. Endorse x10!
