Stayed four nights here in September 2012 and found the motel to be perfect for our needs. Clean, quiet, well maintained, and friendly. Barry the manager was a very nice guy and very helpful. The mini-fridge and microwave in the room were wonderful for snacking on leftovers (when lobster is $4 a pound like when we were in mid-coast Maine, you’ll have a lot of leftovers!), the room was a nice size, the bed was comfortable, and the location was walking distance from a great little café (Giant Steps Café) and a fully stocked general store, as well as a slightly longer stroll to the fine Morse’s Cribstone Grill and the more touristy Cook’s Lobster House. The Cook’s Island View Motel isn’t fancy and to be honest, there isn’t much of a sea view (probably unnecessary given that you’ll have plenty of opportunities to look at water during your stay in mid-coast Maine), but it’s well equipped, very functional, and good value compared to other choices in the area. If you are looking for some sort of hyper-cute B&B with frilly furniture, this isn’t it, but you won’t be paying for those frills either.
We’ll definitely be back.

It wouldn't make any difference. All the rooms are the same.
