“Great view, less good coffee”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Antico isn't the sort of place we would usually go to for coffee and cake - a bit too boutique-y looking with over-loud music - however the view of the Forth Rail Bridge from the large picture windows tempted us in. The staff were very friendly and there was a choice of newspapers to read (if you could tear your eyes from that view), however the coffee was disappointing. I had to ask for my cup to be filled instead of only being two thirds full and my husband didn't get the warm milk he was promised just the usual frothy concoction. The cakes were nicely presented though. Maybe it's more a place to go for bar meals or drinks but the view is stunning and a good vantage point on a freezing January day.

“Amazing view, ok food, not good service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Went in yesterday for a breakfast, I had the full Scottish which was pleasant, partner had a bacon roll which was the most stingy portion I have ever seen, served in a toasted roll minus any spread, 2 fatty bits of bacon which didn’t even fill the roll! Service was odd to be honest, the highlight was when I asked how my haggis would come with the Scottish breakfast and the lad said he knew what it looked like but couldn’t describe it! (it was fried) The view is really good think it would be a nice place for a few drinks would try again in the evening if I was ever in the area again

“Lovely breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

It's been a while since we've had breakfast in Antico and we were just as pleased as always. The freshly cooked full scottish breakfast didn't disappoint. Could have done with the toast being brought out with the breakfast so it was still hot, but apart from that great value. Tip for anyone going, if you enjoy orange juice with your breakfast then ask for less ice, otherwise you get a lot of ice and not a lot of juice.

“How hard can it be to serve a fresh scone?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

Had little time but decided to squeeze in a cup of tea and scone at the delightfully placed Orocco Pier in Queensferry.

Our order was taken reasonably quickly and the tea, coffee, scone and carrot cake came shortly after. The coffee tasted awful and the bakes were of inferior quality. The scone was chewy in the middle and had not been "home" baked quite some time before. The cake was also of low quality and just about edible. It's only a little thing but it's so easy to do right. Location will get the punters in but food quality will keep them coming back. Disappointing experience.

“Very pleasant lunch with great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

We stopped here for lunch and the food was good. Only downside was the waitress suggested we also had vegetables with our mains when she was taking away our starter plates. She seemed confident they'd be ready with our mains. Needless to say they weren't but that didn't detract from how nice the food was. We'll know next time to order at the start as there was no vegetables with the dishes we ordered other than potatoes.
