“Yum!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

I wish we'd been in town for long enough to eat here again! Everything was wonderful! I got one of the catfish dinners & my husband got a crawfish po-boy, & we were very pleased with our meals. Dessert was great too... delicious cheesecake!

“Stick to the cheaper items on the menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2011

My companion and I have visited this Copeland's about 5 times in the past year. The first four times we visited, we ordered the Red Beans & Rice with Andouille Sausage and the Catfish Acadiana for lunch (because of the cheaper menu). We enjoyed our food each time and thought it was worth the price. We only sat down in the restaurant to eat the first time we ordered, and the service was good. The fourth time we ordered, we also ordered the Corn & Crab Bisque, which was very good (rich and creamy). We then ordered for the fifth time yesterday, and this time we decided to go all out and order from the dinner menu: We ordered the Creole Calamari appetizer, a Copeland's Famous Fried Seafood Platter for each of us, an Ultimate Snickers cheesecake, and a Bananas Foster cheesecake (to go). The Creole Calamari appetizer was better than average, but not great. I have a hard time understanding why the Copeland's Famous Fried Seafood Platter would be famous at all because overall it was a big disappointment, both in terms of quantity and quality of seafood for the price. The fried catfish was a poor excuse for fried catfish; it was too thin, not deeply fried enough (no crispiness to it!), and not spiced well. The menu stated that each platter was served with corn fritters, but neither of us had any of those. The fried crawfish, shrimp, and oysters were okay, but nothing special. The crab cake was moist and tasty, the best part of the platter, which was a surprise. The Snickers cheesecake was good, but I don't see myself paying $7.99 for it in the future. The Bananas Foster cheese cake was okay, but it did not impress my companion. Based on our experience, I would advise others to stick to the cheaper items on the menu: We enjoyed them more than the expensive seafood platter, and there's less room for disappointment.

“A favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011 via mobile

We have Moved into the New Orleans area within the last year. We have received many visitors to visit and we always bring them to Copelands. It is our favorite. Steaks are perfectly seasoned, pasta and crabcakes are delicious. We have not found anything in out 9 visits with our friends and family that we don't care for. Leave room for the Cheesecake!
