“Pretty in the springtime”

I love going here when the flowers are in bloom. The grounds are gorgeous. There are several different exhibits, including a kid friendly (touchable) and this "gallery of dolls"

“Beautiful Gardens and Artwork”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

This is a fun place, especially in the spring. There is one room of statues for kids where they can touch and climb gently on, without getting into trouble. The gardens are very nice. A great place to go when you want to stroll around.

“Beautiful Gardens and Art”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

If you catch this place at the right time and can see all the Azaleas in full bloom. If not the the water features and spacious garden areas are great for a family get together. The artwork is nice inside. Something everyone should enjoy and should be on your mustdo list if you are visiting.

“A gem of a place - a must view while in Shreveport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Their collection is varied from old masters to Hudson School grand landscapes , from Remingtons to euro-sculpture, and from guys guns to gals dolls. The old world tapestries are intriguing as are classical portraits. --- all free for the viewing!- a legacy of an oil family of Shreveport.

Nice gardens behind the museum are in full bloom in late March - early April

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Upon entering expect the absolute best art. Inclusive is art dating back to the early 1900's. The paintings are high end. R.W. Norton was an oil and gas businessman and based on the quantity and quality of exhibits; this family was loaded. Just when you think you've seen the best, stroll the grounds and you will find the finest landscaping with numerous types of plants, trees, themed western areas, cross over bridges, and numerous water fountains /falls. Even the baby squirrels will let you get close enough to video. You will be well pleased, and best of all it's free!
