“Charming southern b&b”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

After a tiring trip from NYC we were delighted to arrive at this beautiful b&b located on the private Lake Rosemound. We were met by our charming host Jeannie who showed us around the property and the famous icecream parlour. We had a good nights sleep in our very comfortable accommodation and a great breakfast next morning. Jeannie had lots of information on local sights, she even arranged for us to go to a local "crawfish boil" which was typical of the generous hospitality shown to us. There are kitchen facilities available which would be really useful if you had an extended stay with your family as the local restaurants are a bit average. This not a five star hotel but a really charming old b&b that makes you think back to family vacations when you were young. So much warmth and fond memories for us, thanks Jeannie

We stay at Lake Rosemond B&B because of Mrs Jean Peters. You will not find better Southern Hospitality anywhere else in the South. The work Jean and her son John have put into expanding this B&B is just wonderful.

Do you want a scoop of ice cream during the day or evening, just go into the lounge and help yourself. Want a pot of coffee in the morning before breakfast, go into the lounge and make your own pot. Want to play pool, throw darts, go to the lounge.

The breakfast is just great and there will be enough food so you won't go away hungry.

Enjoy your stay, we have for three differnt ocassions.

Room Tip: There are two suites and two rooms. We have stayed in both, a suite and a room. If you can get a sui...

My partner and I had gone to Lake Rosemound to stay at a friends camp. When we got to the camp, it was full of spiders and bugs! We decided we weren't staying and headed home because we were traveling with our 4 dogs and didn't think anywhere in the area would allow us to stay with that many animals. Needless to say we were bummed! On the highway my partner googled "dog friendly St. Francisville" and Lake Rosemound Inn came up. We called and explained our situation to Ms. Jean and she told us no problem!!! So, we turned around and headed back to the lake.

Ok... the inn sits just off the lake, surrounded with great views. The room she put us in was clean and comfortable. The inn offers lots amenities, not the least of which is a free ice cream bar. (heaven!) So, we stayed, we played, and our dogs ran the grounds, swam in the lake and were worn out by the end of the weekend! Oh...breakfast. yum yum! I can't say enough great things about Ms. Jean and this inn. GO STAY THERE!

We will be back! Boots, Lucky Dog, Gracie and Loopy all say "woof woof!!"

We loved Mrs jean. Her pancakes and eggs are the best. It's very quiet and we enjoyed it very much. We fished off the dock and went out on the canoe and paddleboat. The beach area of lake rosemound is right in front of the house. The ice cream parlor was a blast and I loved the pool table!! Visiting again in April!!! :)

We just returned from a 3 night/4 day stay at Lake Rosemound Inn. It was a short trip from home (Baton Rouge) but the scenery makes you feel like you're in a different state! We had 7 adults, 5 children and 2 chihuahuas with room to spare. I stayed in the Feliciana suite with my 2 daughters and our puppy and it was fabulous. Honestly we only slept in our rooms. All of the other time was spent either on the beach or in the game room/parlor. The kids LOVED the ice cream and we used the kitchen every nite. The kids loved the beach - it has a zero entry shoreline that even little ones can wade in because there are no waves like at the ocean. During the evenings and while waiting out the rain, we played board games, ping-pong, and music. My brother also brought his PS3 and hooked it up to the TV in the parlor so we could play Rock Band (he brought all of his own equipment.) I can't wait to go back. This is a fantastic place to have a family reunion/get-together, a couples/group weekend or a girls getaway. Absolutely loved it. Ms. Jeanne is amazing and I highly recommend it.

My fiance and I stayed here for spring break... and we couldn't have picked a better choice. The location is amazing! Of course, it is RIGHT on the lake and surrounded by beautiful trees. Every morning we could go out in the canoe or simply sit on the wharf listening to the birds (it's the center of a bird sanctuary!!). Breakfast with the host, Ms. Jean, was so enjoyable and delicious. Blueberry pancakes.. sausage.... bacon.. omelets.. hot coffee and cold juice. MMMmm. She was such a gem and quite a cook! The complementary, at-your-leisure, ice cream parlor was very cute and yummy for a mid-night snack. This is such a great place. I'd recommend it to anyone, even if it is a little bit tricky getting there for the first time (what can I say.. it's secluded!).

What started out as a Labor Day Weekend-birthday celebration for my son, quickly converted to a hurricane evacuation with my 2 son, myself , and my mother in tow. Dispite the driving rain and blustery wind, we managed to have a ball playing pool, pingpong and board games. Full use of the kitchen facilities came in handy, cooking meals from the contents of our refrigerator, transported in an ice chest, from home. Thanks to Ms Jeane, my son had a delicious birthday cake to celebrate his day. And thanks to her son Jon, who kept the generator working the fans in our room. Overall our stay was outstanding and I would recommend Lake Rosemound Inn to families in the New Orleans area and beyond. This is one evacuation we shall never forget. Thanks for your hospitality.
Sincerely, KC
P.S. The country breakfast was awesome. My boys are still talking about Ms. Jeane's mini pancakes.
